Moral failure of LDS Leadership in Iraq invasion by US.

A war started based on lies later proven just that, supported by more lies and ever changing reasons to go to war which are repeated to push many to forget the first lies CRIES OUT for moral leadership from Gods servants. This is a moral crisis much larger than a few homosexual couples trying to get married. This is the leadership of 'a chosen land, choice above all others' lying and commanding an army of occupation in a land that posed NO Threat to the US. A few SCUD missiles with a range of 93 miles..., what, they were going to launch them at Florida and pray for a big tailwind?

The lack of speaking out against moral outrage is unforgivable in religious leadership, Mormon and otherwise.

From the statements often made by LDS leadership and those I read in the Utah papers Mormons beliver only too much in 'follow your leaders, even if you know they are wrong and you will be blessed for it'. Didn't work for the Nazis and it won't work now. Leadership is sorely lacking in its judgment if they fail to speak out against murder whether ordered by a US President or a common street thug in Rose Park, Utah. But, George is a White & Delightsome Republican and the CTR State (Choose the Republican) will follow anything he does as evidenced by the lack of moral leadership from the LDS top dogs.

If a thing is wrong, it is wrong. No amount of explaining and obfuscation will change that. Hinckley is and was wrong and the current leaderships failure to condemn murder and invasion by our nation is even more so as they have a chance to do the right thing and are failing to stand for truth and right.

I supported the invasion, and I support the surge.

Me too.

Good thing you don't have to be a Republican or a resident of the "CTR state" to support the war.

A war started based on lies later proven just that,

1. This is itself a lie, and has been debunked now for years.

2. Proved by whom?

This is the leadership of 'a chosen land, choice above all others' lying and commanding an army of occupation in a land that posed NO Threat to the US.

1. It is not an army of occupation. Is this a lie too, or just mindless Daily Kos blog verbiage?

2. The invasion occurred so Saddam would never be allowed to arrive at the point at which he was a imminent threat. What do you know, and what is your source, for claiming he was not a threat? Clinton thought he was, as did most of the Democratic and Republican leadership in the late nineties (and every intelligence service in the world of any substance).

Leadership is sorely lacking in its judgment if they fail to speak out against murder

Except the murder of Jews by mindless barbarians bent on ethnic genocide, right?

If a thing is wrong, it is wrong. No amount of explaining and obfuscation will change that. Hinckley is and was wrong and the current leaderships failure to condemn murder and invasion by our nation is even more so as they have a chance to do the right thing and are failing to stand for truth and right.

Further illustration that, while leftism isn't a mental disorder, acceptance of its major premises powerfully mimics the effects of the kind of mental deterioration seen in organic brain disease.

Exactly why I kept my comments to under 25 words.

I think it was a metaphorical death. They're all dead on the inside.

Regardless of your opinion of the war, this is one area that religious leaders should take a stand on, either for or against. I don't think the leaders in SLC have given any real opinion on the war, other than they support their government leaders. IT is interesting that the church is spending so much time and effort on the gay marriage issue, but not the war.
