That verse wrote:Behold, here is wisdom; yea, to be a seer, a revelator, a translator, and a prophet, having all the gifts of God which he bestows upon the head of the church.
At
http://scriptures.LDS.org/hu You can read the scriptures in hungarian (with many, many translation, grammatical and linguistic error but now I don't want to handle them, it will be another thread)
If You look at
http://scriptures.LDS.org/hu/od/2 (which is the
hungarian version of the "OFFICIAL DECLARATION—2" You can read:

You're claiming that the Scriptures in other languages aren't perfect? I think we know that. My Portuguese companion found several in his.
If the Prophet was translating by the gift and power of God we might have a problem but it's done by large teams doing the best they can.

I think the underlying point is that the claim of power and authority above all other authority is manifest in the possession of certain gifts. However, the Church seems ironically incapable of exercising those gifts. They thus fail the test of their own making.
Or something like that.

On second thought, they never claimed the gift of "cut and paste" so maybe they are still okay. Crisis of faith avoided!

This is why when Paul enumerated the Spiritual Gifts he made it pretty clear that no one would get them unless they also had faith. The two that are most publicly observable (tongues and prophecy) come across as babbling and madness respectively. I guess the Prophets aren't kidding when they say that not only do miracles not convert but it's very rare that anyone outside will ever even recognize one when it comes.
