LoaP Invites Me to Lunch
How interesting! It turns out that, rather late last night, I was sent a PM by LifeOnaPlate. The Plate, it seems, is interested in taking me out to lunch---his treat. Now, you may be wondering: why does this merit a thread? Well, I think this is worth bringing to the attention of the board because, frankly, I am not quite sure how to react to this PM. On the one hand, LoaP is openly calling me a "stalker," and asserting that I am in need of serious mental health treatment. Further, for a very long time he addressed me as "Ms. Scratch," despite my screen name and despite repeated lectures from other posters.
So, I appeal to the other folks on the board: How should I respond to such a gesture? On the one hand, it seems quite friendly and nice. On the other hand, why the two-facedness from LoaP? I am just curious what others think.

It would depend on who buys the plane ticket.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Mister Scratch,
You bring up an important *tension* shall we say, within LoP's reasoning. Why, just yesterday he was criticizing you for only pretending to fear for your life because instead of calling the police, you asked for an apology. Now, he himself, is making charges of stalking, and this is quite a serious matter, but then turns around and invites his supposed stalker to lunch, on his own dime. So his sincerity on one of the two matters is called into question by his very own reasoning.
To be perfectly honest, Scratch, I'd politely decline the invitation. I think LoP would in reality be a nice guy to have lunch with. The problem is he carries on conversations behind the scenes with a number of apologists in a very gossipy manner. And while on serious consideration I would give the benefit of the doubt to his sincerity, and I do not believe he would set out to harm you on purpose, he's still green as an apologist. And the mid-tier and senior level apologists he's in communication with might use LoP's lunch with you as an intelligence gathering opportunity that is not in your interest.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Dang. LOAP, I think I'm going to have to call the SCMC Führer bunker and tell them that the plan to send you to McDonald's with Scartch and a wire probably isn't going to work, after all.

I'm confident you won't take LoaP up on his offer, since that would expose your true identity and you would lose your job. You know, the one where you are supposedly an independent and yet objective voice about Mormonism?
Then again, PS, maybe now is as good a time as any to come out of the closet. You think?

I knew it!! Scratch is Jan Shipps!!!
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I tried! Please return my dog as per our former agreement.
And can I still keep the wire?
By the way, PS, I am completely serious about meeting for lunch. I think you ought to consider it.
