Stephenie Meyer..Church Discipline or no?
Stephenie Meyer..Church Discipline or no?
Do any of the TBM's here think that Stephenie Meyer at least deserves a call into the bishop's office for her vampire novels?
She is a publicly declared Mormon and BYU graduate.
Her novels involve pre-marital sex and tales of the undead.
Sounds a little racy for a Mormon author.
Thoughts?

Can a Mormon really be disciplined for writing steamy novels?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I personally don't think that they should be, but the fact that she proudly proclaimed herself to be an active Mormon could be construed by Church leaders as her embarrassing the Church.

So... kinda like the calendar guy then? Or if she'd written under a pseudonym, that would keep her off the radar?

Exactly.
I know that if I decided to publish any of my steamy stuff, it would be with a pseudonym. ;)

Liz,
You need to publish them right here on this board. No one will tell.
I don't suppose Hoops make an appearance through the steam, does he?
