Jesus H. Christ almighty!

They just cannot let it die can they?

Chad Hardy is loving all of the free press, especially from the church who ousted him!

Mistakes in the News: Associated Press Errors More Than Semantics
SALT LAKE CITY 30 September 2008 In an article dated 25 September 2008, entitled “Shirtless LDS missionary calendar back for 2009,” Jennifer Dobner of the Associated Press failed to provide readers with a clear and entirely accurate story.

In her lead sentence, Dobner writes, “A dozen Mormon missionaries are again taking off their trademark white shirts for a calendar that seeks to strip away stereotypes about their church.” To be accurate, the article should have referred to the models as former Mormon missionaries none of whom are serving as missionaries now nor were they at the time they were photographed.

This error embodies much more than simple semantics. For those familiar with the Church’s missionary program, the act of full-time missionaries posing shirtless for a calendar may seem preposterous.
What a bunch of wet diapers!

Has it not occurred to the old farts who wrote this tripe that LDS missionaries are already a symbol of stupidity by most non Mormons???

What next? The Axe commercial?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Clmr9JUyTIc

Or the band, "The Mormons"?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psb0tYNhQ4g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bYdS5NQ6WE

Edit to add: Since Kimball said "Every member a MISSIONARY" it is plausible to refer to LDS members as missionaries, or Mormon missionaries. So the crybabies who wrote this are wrong.

I'm left wondering where are the articles on things that really matter right now... like getting out and staying out of debt, of living within our means, of living the simple life, of saving, of food storage. Instead we're obviously so incensed about an obscure calendar, we spend an inordinate amount of time preparing press releases about something that doesn't matter to anyone.

Good grief. (It makes me wonder what will come out of conference though. Will we hear talks on gay marriage? Or will we hear talks on husbanding our finances?)

This has been brought to you by people who nitpick everything the Church says. Yet when the Church does it it is petty. Hmmm....would that make them petty people?

A valid complaint. Missionaries are representing the Church in an official capacity. Former missionaries likely are not.

Care to show who ever you people are?? ~ nitpicks "everything the Church says."

I doubt I have made a comment on 1/2 of 1 percent of everything the Church says..

You haven't. Others here bring in normal press releases and howl about them. For example, see the thread starter. Merc does this as well.

I seriously wonder how they do it. Do they monitor all press releases from the Church? Go to RFM and come report. I'm glad I'm too lazy.... :)

Whatever happened to the saying, "every member a missionary"?

They're just trying to keep the record straight. Why is this a problem?
