Surprised a Book of Mormon burning event has not happened

That would make a statement, no?

Have people show up with copies of BoMs given to them.

Build a huge bonfire and burn hundreds or thousands of unread Book of Mormon.

Just surprised it has not happened.

I'd suppose a permit would be required for the bonfire.

It would depend on whether there's a fire ban on. I suppose you have firebans in the US? Or is that a stoopid question?

Can I suggest a Hymn for the bonfire? "The Spirit of God Like Fire is Burning".

Have a good night, Port!

Not that I give a hoot what happens to all those copies of the Book of Mormon out there, but there is certainly something unsavory about a book burning.

The Nazis seem to have ruined that whole concept for the forseeable future.

wow, are you psychic CT?

Arapahoe County sheriff's deputies responded to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, some three hours after a church member found a burning copy of The Book of Mormon on a door step.

I'm with Seth, I can't stomach book burning, for any reason.

I have a friend who after leaving the church wanted to engage in a cleansing ritual to help her move on and rid herself of the lingering Mormonism...

So she took all her LDS books and burned them.

She found the experience very therapeutic.

I guess to me it depends on why it is being burned. I'm not so absolute about this.

I don't want it taken out of libraries for heaven's sakes, but it might be the perfect image to burn to make a point.

I probably wouldn't do it myself, but....

Book burning is like flag burning: It's a freedom everyone should have, but something nobody should do.
