board suggestions

First off, where should we put board suggestions--the Terrestrial, or Off-Topic forum?

I think it would help to have anonymous feedback on posting style. I would like to know how many people have me on their foe list (not necessarily who). I would also like to know if a particular post is perceived as contemptible, comical, confusing, cogent, or creative. While it might be too much to ask, it could also help to break down the ratings according to how Molly Mormon / Peter Priesthood the person is.

I'll check with Keene, but I don't think there is any way for us to track the information you are requesting. Probably the best way to find out for yourself is to create a poll thread. That is still not the most reliable, but it would give you a fair idea.

As far as suggestions, since everyone is throwing things out there, here are a couple of things I would like to see:

1. Allow 4 embedded quotes instead of 2. Since we don't have a threaded view, that would allow a little more continuity. Also, it is a royal pain to create an entire post, only to have to go back in and delete quotes.

2. This is something I know you don't agree with, Shades, but I'm just throwing out what I would like to see. I think that Harmony is onto something. All personal attacks go into Telestial. Argue the topic...don't insult the person. That, frankly, for me, is the thing that gets most tiring, and I see offenses on both sides.

3. Since Bob has created such a fuss, add an official rule to the Board Rules that no one is allowed to "faux moderate". If Bob can obey the rules, he can have his signature feature back. ;)

4. Oh, and of course, I would like to see smilies, which I know you will never allow, but I love you anyway. LOL

Asb-man, I don't have a foe or ignore or anything list.

I don't mind the 2 quote limit, but the board should be smart enough to erase the inner most quote so that it automatically limits it to 2 quotes.

I don't think the software works that way. The way Keene explained it to me, you just have to select a number as far as how many quotes to allow imbedded.

(OK, Scottie, you're getting me all hot and bothered talking about techy stuff. LOL)

I'd like a way to see if anyone is chatting without opening up the window.

I'd like to be able to chat period. I can get there for a few seconds, then some AJAX server comes up and asks me for a username and password. Same thing over and over.

Also, would like to open links in a new window.

Middle click on the link, or use Ctrl+click.

What Internet browser are you using, BC?
