Too bad I don't pay tithing

So last week, I had to pick up a prescription which wasn't covered by insurance. I went to Shop-Ko to fill it, and after a 45 minute wait, they informed me that they had run out, but that they would get more the next day.

I waited until the next day, but, alas, the shipment didn't come in. They called the prescription into another pharmacy.

The pharmacy that I went to saved me almost $50!

Point of the story, it's amazing how we can find miracles if we are looking for them.

There is no doubt that in my pre-apostate days, I would have thanked God for the blessings of tithing. Now I just see random events that happen to people, some good and some bad, with no God and no "master plan" guiding my life.

Do you guys see events that you used to see as miracles that are now just a part of life?

Oh yes, I find it a miracle that harmony still reads my posts.

But, Scottie, if you were paying tithing you would have saved a hundred.

I like to take the attitude of gratitude for any blessings or fortunate happenings that come my way. I also try to be grateful during challenges and try to see what I can learn from them and how I can become a better person because of them. Whether one attributes them to God or to obeying God or to just random happenings is not important. But I would rather not mock whatever reasons people find behind their good event.

True story:

We made a reservation for a limousine service to take us to the airport tomorrow morning. Then I went to check the mail, and there was a $5-off coupon in there. So my wife cancelled the first reservation and made a new one with the company that sent out the coupon.

I'm gonna save 5 bucks.

And we don't even pay tithing.

Too bad I've never attributed like windfalls to my paying a full tithe.
