FP adds "Virtue" to Young Women theme ....

See link below to FP letter explaining the addition of "virtue" to the list of attributes in the Young Women theme (which the young ladies recite every week). My bet is that "Modesty" will eventually be added (although it may fall under "Virtue"), since they always harp on how many LDS girls dress slutty (in their eyes).

Are you saying this is a bad thing?? Good for the church for trying to instill some values into the youth!
Also, why crucify the church for something they haven't done yet? IF they add modesty to the list, then you can harp on it, right?

Note also how the letter is written just to
male leaders -- local YW leaders have to get it from the bishop (and not even the Gen'l YW presidency got the letter!).

Not at all, but this is a change just for the girls, not all youth.

How does my post "crucify the church"? I'm just a little surprised that "modesty" is not expressly listed, since Church leaders seem to harp on it so much with the young women. Just my observation.

There you have it! No longer can critics doubt that there are prophets, seers and revelators guiding the LDS church. I expect an outpouring of testimony over this prescient guidance, which is much needed in these latter days when Satan's minions are seeking to tempt even the smallest primary children with slutty Bratz dolls.

Good point. Although the boys have the scout oath:
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my Country
To obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.Since most LDS boys are heavily involved in scouts, perhaps the brethren see this as good enough?

Fair enough. I'm not sure teaching modesty is a bad thing either.
What IS a bad thing is teaching that you are forever damaged should you slip up. Such as the licked cupcake or chewed gum or nail in a board lessons.

That's not surprising. The boys don't need virtue, if the girls have it. It's the old "don't pet the tiger" theme from 15 years ago.
I'm not surprised none of the women got the letter. The FP doesn't deal with women. They deal with bishops, which is who I assume got the letter.

Some think "morally straight" refers to being straight, not gay.

I agree 110%!

I am surprised that the Gen'l YW presidency is not an addressee. And, yes, all male leaders from GA down to bishop got the letter.

I'd be
very surprised if they treated the Gen'l YW presidency any differently than they treat a ward's YW presidency. They are
all under a man's thumb at whatever their level is. So whoever is in charge of the Gen'l YW presidency is who got the letter and who will tell those women about the change.
Nothing changes. Ever. Women are 2nd class citizens and are genetically unable to lead, according to those with "authority". And people wonder why I grant them no authority in my life?
