Further, UD, to keep the conversation going with greater ease for me, feel free to rejoin me in the discussion back over at the MAD board where I am still waiting for you to answer several questions. You mysteriously slipped off, and over here, so let's meet back where the orig. discussion was going on. Feel free to meet me back over there.

Dale has invested an enormous time and effort in responding to these issues on multiple boards beyond MDB and MAD. Might I suggest that you extend a bit of respect for his time, efforts and the extensive resources he brings to the table?

Why does it matter where the questions are answered?

Are you suggesting that the MDB crowd is beneath your discussion?

Maybe Lopy wants to up his cred with the TBMs by being seen as trying to keep up with Dale. I hope he sticks around too.

1. Why would "keep[ing] the conversation going with greater ease for you" be anyone's reason to move the discussion where several posters who are currently part of this discussion or those who are currently reading this discussion and learning a great deal cannot go? Are you somehow more important than anyone on this board? On this thread?

Dale is the expert. If he's comfortable here, it behooves you to come here, instead of trying to move him to where you're more comfortable.

2. If you have questions, why don't you ask them here?

3. Just because someone doesn't post in another place at the same time he posts here doesn't mean he "mysteriously slipped off", as if he had his tail tucked between his legs. And you wonder why he isn't continuing on a dead thread at MAD?

4. THIS is the place where the original discussion started and is continuing. You were the one who took this discussion to MAD (or don't you remember the debacle of you quoting Jersey without a cite). Try to keep the chronology straight, Plate.

5. Feel free to continue your discussion here, Plate, where all are welcome, none are banned, and no one, absolutely no one is silenced.

Maybe Lopy only wishes to continue an already-and-ongoing discussion with Dale on the subject at MAD, and maybe the only opinion on the matter Lopy puts much stock in on the subject at this message board is Uncle Dale.

Uncle Dale wrote:If Mr. Life starts a new thread over there, I'll join in.

We already have a pretty good one going, I hope we can finish it before moving too far along. I think we have gotten ahead of ourselves. Best to tackle it from the start and move on.

Perhaps Mr. Life would like to change the subject to a
topic he knows something more about ----

UD

Not sure if you're joking with this one or not, UD, but as we've seen so far over at MAD I am pretty able to point out some mistakes on your part. So if I don't know enough about it to continue to converse, though I discover some incorrect assumptions on your educated part, what are we to think? See you at MAD. ;)

I'm certainly not making any claims about importance, I am only asking that our other discussion keep moving forward without my becoming further distracted here. Dale is, of course, perfectly willing and capable of answering your questions here. I suppose I add something to the conversation here, as I am one of the only people offering a contrary view to Dale, most of the others merely patting his back. So if Dale is willing he can continue the discussion between he and I back over at MAD where it began.

Dale is the expert. If he's comfortable here, it behooves you to come here, instead of trying to move him to where you're more comfortable.

I'm going back to where my conversation with Dale began. At MAD. Not here. If he choses not to follow that is his decision.

2. If you have questions, why don't you ask them here?

As I said, I'm going back to where my conversation began. At MAD. Not here. If he choses not to follow that is his decision. It is largely irrelevant to me whether anyone else can see our discussion.

3. Just because someone doesn't post in another place at the same time he posts here doesn't mean he "mysteriously slipped off", as if he had his tail tucked between his legs. And you wonder why he isn't continuing on a dead thread at MAD?

He is continuing it, though. As recently as earlier today, fortunately. But this is all rather irrelevant to me.

4. THIS is the place where the original discussion started and is continuing. You were the one who took this discussion to MAD (or don't you remember the debacle of you quoting Jersey without a cite). Try to keep the chronology straight, Plate.

My particular exchange which I am interested in continuing with Uncle Dale began on the MAD board. Certainly that wasn't the first place the Criddle et. al. word study came up. However, I am interested in the overall Spalding issue, not merely the recent study.

5. Feel free to continue your discussion here, Plate, where all are welcome, none are banned, and no one, absolutely no one is silenced.

No thanks. One of the reasons I decided not to continue here is because a certain mod has taken it upon him/herself to police me, threaten to delete some of my posts, and otherwise get on my nerves while I am trying to discuss things with Dale. With that, I take leave on this issue from this board. Thanks for listening.

In terms of LDS related message boards? Yes, it was posted here first.

"A certain mod"? I've seen no one threaten you, no one polices you any more than anyone else. And no one can help it if you allow your nerves to be gotten upon.

We will, however, be happy to copy your comments from the MAD board to this one, just so no one loses track of your points.

"That" indicating the MAD board, not this one, Jersey Girl.

Yes, and the MODERATOR in question has addressed me through PM as well as on the board proper.

Ok.
