"Focus on the Family" just pulled its interview w Beck because of his membership in the Mormon church. The article is on-lone w a google search.
I don't really agree nor dis-agree with their reasoning.
But I found a statement made by Beck, apparently in response to the pulling of his interview, extremely hypocritical. He responds with this statement;
Beck: Beck said in a statement, "Whatever your beliefs about my religion, the concept of religious tolerance is too important to be sacrificed in response to special interest groups, especially when it means bowing to censorship."
While I would agree, it has been the very church he now believes in that has been the biggest particpant of "censorship". Especially to its members and in its attempts to the press.
Beck needs to remember that ol saying abouts pots, kettles and black!!!

Religious tolerance? Special interest group? Censorship?
What is he talking about?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Oh please...move along...
I'd say "CFR", but really, why bother?

Well let's start with the LDS church manual "The Teachings of the Prophet - Joseph Smith"
Where in this manual do we find where Smith taught that the only church rule on marriage is monagamy as the D&C's dictated while he lied and practiced polygamy?
Where in that same manual do we find that Smith taught God was a man first, like all gods before him, and had to learn how to become a god!!
Answer that first Droopy before you critcize my claim of church censorship!!
Or, do the Provo-BYU-Robert Millet" thing and answer the question "that should have been asked". I wonder why I even bother entertaining you!

So where are you to respond to the facts Droopy???
Droopy exhibits the well known characteristic LDS traits of running and hiding when facts are presented in an "open" forum. Not like the protection and censorship of the MAD board, eh Droopy?

I'd have more respect for them if they pulled his interview on the basis of him being a sensationalist, poor journalist, far right winger masquerading as an independent, and a general blowhard. Doing so based on membership in a church, no matter the controversy surrounding the organization, is hot water.
How would people react if interviews with Catholics were canceled because of pedophile priests, or the banning of birth control in sub-Saharan Africa?

I had to laugh the other day when he made a statement that he lives his life by the rule of common sense! Except when it comes to religion, then feelings rule the day.
