Hmmm... the theme is one that greatly interests me. How do they feel about non-Mormons submitting proposals?

There are non-Mormons on our board, and non-Mormons routinely present at our meetings.

Didn't you see the fine print?
Call for Papers: "Upon All Nations - Religious Pluralism" *
*Papers regarding Religious Pluralism will only be accepted from LDS contributors, and attendance to the seminar will be limited by invitation to LDS as well.

I'm hoping, personally, for papers from collegeterrace/PP, Some Schmo, solomarineris, poor antishock8, and/or TAK.
I think this board deserves the kind of strong representation that they can provide.
But if CK and his ilk want to propose presentations for the conference, I suppose we can't really stop them.

lol! Yes, I suppose that would be sort of silly, wouldn't it? But a lot of the phrasing on the page implies a Mormon perspective, so I thought it was worth asking before I went to the trouble of putting together a proposal. Now I just have to decide whether to write on the relationship of Mormonism to Pentecostalism or on how Mormonism helped lead me to religious relativism!

There are more like CK? Now I feel even dumber.
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

I peeked in the back [of the Bible] Frank, the Devil did it.
I avoid church religiously.
This isn't one of my sermons, I expect you to listen.

Well,
Who're organizing this gig?
Held in cooperation with the Howard W. Hunter Chair of Mormon Studies and the Claremont Mormon Studies Student Association.
Naw this settled, let's look at the agenda;
The Holy Spirit’s work in differing spiritual traditions
Who'se holy Spirit are they talking about? there's only one.
Cooperation between religious groups
Excuse me? There's only one True Church (or are we wimping out of that premise?)
Interreligious dialogue
How 'bout some FHE while we are talking about the onlyTrue Church
The place of pluralism within the church
HmhmHmmm, sounds great, let's talk about how we all butchered Prop8 & rejoice with our Christian Brothers Victory.
Missionary work and respect for other faiths
Just love this one above all! Let's go out & destroy, pillage, rape all cultures in the name of Christ.
Differences in teaching and/or practice within or among distinct historical dispensations (e.g. Adamic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Lehitic)
Let's keep this part in the norm of civility and leave the garments, oaths, veil, baptism for death out of it. The relationship of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to other Christian denominations
This one is soo peachy thanks to our beloved Prophet GBH; "We invite everyone, we Leave no one out".
Comparative theology
Now this subject need some serious experts, say, ..like Robert Milet, who will put his xpertise on the line to teach is how to give milk while hogging meat.
The role of religion in public life
This one will teach how to pay tithing while avoid paying taxes, how to live off at the expense of average taxpaying public.
I am sure It will be a smashing sucess.
PS: Monsieur DCP
Tres bien. Je n'e pas réalisé que vous avez parlé français assez bien pour citer Voltaire.
Bitte entschuldigen Sie mir fur meine arme Fransozisch.
I think you should create a Sunday School class for Missionary preparedness regarding Languages.
OH!!! I forgot to mention your Arabic skills.
Ehlen Sehlen. Allahu Akbar!

Re: SMPT Call for Papers
That's exactly the kind of contribution I anticipated that you might make at the conference, s&m.
And, now that you've tested the waters and set the example, perhaps your peers TAK and collegeterrace/PP and Some Schmo and poor antishock8 will be willing to step forward with their meditations, as well.
