Post by _Droopy »

We got Quinn on your case
Scratch in your face
Kickin' your FARMS all over the place

Proposition 8 gonna take on the Court some day

Somebody's gonna throw you right into the fray

We are we are exmos

I thought you were going to take some time off?

Ex-Mos can leave you but you can't leave ex-mos.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.

Hey buddy, you never came back to toss another pearl at us oinkers. Here, let me refresh your memory:

What do you really know, Droopy?

Do you know Joseph Smith is a prophet too?

Know is a strong word.

Regardless, Smith had sex with at least one woman that his state did not recognize as his wife, he vehemently denied this behavior in public - and the Mormon God justified all of it - in spite of the generally accepted Jewdeo/Christian morallity we both believe in.

What's the matter with you, man?

Christian morality precludes lying, mendacity, and disingenuous posturing, as well as the slander and calumny of things you have little understanding of and, if you were to tell the truth, little desire to understand, lest such understanding demolish you carefully constructed anti-LDS house of straw.

You are, indeed, inconceivable.

Droopy,

Praytell, please outline in bold for us the know you are refering to (and perhaps how you became privy to my secret life that I am unaware of):

Quote:
know >verb (past knew; past part. known) 1 have knowledge of through observation, inquiry, or information. 2 be absolutely sure of something. 3 be familiar or friendly with. 4 have a good command of (a subject or language). 5 have personal experience of. 6 (usu. be known as) regard as having a specified characteristic or title: the boss was universally known as Sir. 7 archaic have sexual intercourse with.
-PHRASES be in the know be aware of something known only to a few people. God (or goodness or heaven) knows I have no idea. know better than be wise enough to avoid doing something. know no bounds have no limits. know one's own mind be decisive and certain. know the ropes have experience of the appropriate procedures. know what's what informal be experienced and competent in a particular area. you know informal implying something generally known or known by the listener.
-DERIVATIVES knowable >adjective.
-ORIGIN Old English, 'recognize, identify'.

You ran away, Droopy. I'm still calling you out

What happened Droopy? Have you forgotten what I taught you so soon?

This is to serve notice that the next time you have lines in consecutive stanzas without the same number of syllables, your song parody will be immediately moved to the Outer Darkness Forum without comment.

I'm flattered, even though you spelt Metcalf(e) wrong.

I suppose accepting that the Book of Mormon is not historical comes at an awful price - Droopy's poetic (sort of) wrath.

By the way, Droopy:

"We Are The Champions" =/= "We Will Rock You"

Mistah Scratch—he dead.

A penny for the Old Gad

I

We are the Exmos
We are apos
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us—if at all—not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the Exmos
The apos.

II

Eyes I dare not meet in dreams
In death’s dream kingdom
These do not appear:
There, the eyes are
Sunlight on a broken column
There, is a tree swinging
And voices are
In the wind’s singing
More distant and more solemn
Than a fading star.

Let me be no nearer
In death’s dream kingdom
Let me also wear
Such deliberate disguises
Rat’s coat, crowskin, crossed staves
In a field
Behaving as the wind behaves
No nearer—

Not that final meeting
In the twilight kingdom

III

This is the dead land
This is cactus land
Here the stone images
Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man’s hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.

Is it like this
In death’s other kingdom
Waking alone
At the hour when we are
Trembling with tenderness
Lips that would kiss
Form prayers to broken stone.

IV

The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms

In this last of meeting places
We grope together
And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river

Sightless, unless
The eyes reappear
As the perpetual star
Multifoliate rose
Of death’s twilight kingdom
The hope only
Of empty men.

V

Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o’clock in the morning.

Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom

Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow
Life is very long

Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom

For Thine is
Life is
For Thine is the

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

My mind is having trouble wrapping itself around the idea of T.S. Eliot as a Mormon apologist.
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains.
