This may not be worthy of a topic, but I was surprised to see the church advertising on the drudgereport this morning. Has anyone seen other ads online? Where? I wonder how the church decides where its ads are best placed...

That's almost as weird as Pizza Hut going after Mormon Discussions visitors.

The Mormon Church shouldn't waste its time in socially liberal areas, either in real life or on the Intarwebs. If it wanted to maximize its convert/ad dollar spent ratio, it'd be wise to continue advertising on Drudge, National Review Online, Townhall, etc.

A lot of advertising is now is based on the page content and/or the surfing history of the user. Google, Facebook and other ad places use cookies and trackers in order to show ads that are relevant to the user. So if you have searched LDS or Mormon, or visit any related sites, then it might peg you as a potential target for the LDS ads.
Or maybe drudge doesn't use those types of ads.

The Mormon Church shouldn't waste its time in socially liberal areas, either in real life or on the Intarwebs.
That's because to be a social (or an economic) liberal is to be opposed to LDS doctrine in significant ways.

If the most recent Gallup poll is any indication, you should head for the compound pretty soon, because if the Mormon Church gets into it with liberalism, it's going to get its ass kicked:

Considering Gallup's poor record of accurate polling (leftward tilt), I'd say it's probably better than it reports. However, I agree that there are more liberals than conservatives.
This election voters did not have a clear choice between liberalism and conservatism plus we have a media elected president and likely a Soros generated economic downturn.
