and boards with permanent nail holes and chewed pieces of gum. No amount of repentance can apparently make them clean or whole again. They are stained forevermore by their association with a guy who kissed or screwed them.
How come the guys aren't held to the same standard? Too many of these 'young Priesthood holders' get girls pregnant and are not held accountable. Too many of them introduce these girls to sex and life experiences and the girls come out 'tarnished and trashed' but nothing happens to the little pollinating player. He gets off scott free while she is now a slut.
How about some payback and accountability for these oversexed little slobs?

While there have been things said that lend girls to be viewed as you said the same things apply to boys. As a teen I thought I was the only pervert in my ward headed straight to hell because I masturbated.
Sex sins do tend to taint females in the Church a tad more than men but boys and men still get the stigma as well even when they have repented.
That said I think this was more a 1950-1970s thing and is fading. While sex sin is still taught and focused on very heavily I think the forgiveness side is more emphasized as well.

I heard rumors of these things being said at youth firesides. It's actually child abuse. If the child is already being emotionally abused inside the home this could send them over the deep end if they become sexually active with feelings of shame. Shame is poison. This is why so many of the guys I grew up with gave an "adoring history" when interviewed for BYU or a mission.

I don't know about most, but I've never complained about getting licked.
Just sayin'.

In my part of the woods, there doesn't seem to be much difference in the emphasis given to the Young Men and Young Women regarding "chastity" (although I'm much more privy to the goings on in the YM program).
I think the biggest institutional emphasis for the young men is the "Raise-the-Bar" program for missionaries where a certain level of impropriety will totally disqualify a young man from missionary service, whereas in the past there was some room for repentance and absolution (to be clear, the young men can still fully repent, it's only the privilege of missionary service that is denied them).
This is an interesting blog where people discuss the Young Women's lessons:
Beginnings NewA quick search of the LDS.org website didn't turn up any of the bad analogies from the OP, so I wonder if they were ever "officially" taught, or if they are just handed down from generation to generation? I had one Gospel Doctrine teacher who always used the "nail in a board" analogy for repentance, but he always used it as an example of what repentance
wasn't.

I had the Licked Cupcake lesson in the very late 80's.
No, those awful object lessons aren't in the manuals, but they were used frequently in my neck of the woods. No authority, no Bishop or Stake Leader, seemed to find fault with them, as far as I know.
I wrote about the Licked Cupcake object lesson here:
