DCP:
"I've just returned from the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where I underwent a medical procedure.
I was unconscious for roughly an hour.
This has helped me to better understand the mental state of many of my critics."
Bill Hamblin:
"Colonoscopy, right? That's another way it was like your critics."
DCP:
"No. I had that one back in October or November. ("Dignity, always dignity!" as the line goes in Singing in the Rain.) It was the kind of thing that my Malevolent Stalker fantasizes about doing to me. [LOL]
This was from the other end. Essentially routine. My enemies will be disappointed to know, however, that I appear to be pretty much fine, from both angles."
I do have that black humour the medical world is known for but still I thought this exchange was pretty darn funny. Anything to do with medical tests and the lay person's take on them always tickles my funny bone. Just like with my brother's recent kidney stones and his thorough examination from every "angle" by numerous medical students. He wasn't laughing much I noticed.

I do find it unfortunate that the word "enemies" has to creep into the discussions between LDS and ex-members as well as non-LDS I guess. I would venture to say that the number of people who actually wish physical harm on DCP is miniscule, if not zero. I have previously remarked that several of the most outspoken "critics" on this board appear to self-identify as LDS. That undermines the image of a horde of rabid "enemies" that may wish to disembowel or otherwise harm DCP, even figuratively; at least enemies of the non-LDS sort!
Still, it's funny to think of DCP undergoing a medical procedure and thinking of posters on this board in relation to it. See? It's not "just a board". Sometimes posters and our discussions do spill over into real life. That's not too weird, is it?!
