CityCenter may file for bankruptcy

Post by _TAK »

No not that one..

but one has to wonder about the strain on Church Finances for the one in SLC. For anyone in SLC how is the construction progressing?

Las Vegas venture CityCenter may file for bankruptcy

NEW YORK (Reuters) - CityCenter, an $8 billion Las Vegas project owned by MGM Mirage (NYSE:MGM - News) and Dubai World (DBWLD.UL), is considering filing for bankruptcy, two sources familiar with the matter said on Friday.
Shares of MGM Mirage, a casino operator controlled by billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, sank 17 percent in morning trading.
MGM and state-owned investor Dubai World are likely to struggle to pay $220 million in debt due Friday on CityCenter, said one source.

MGM? Is that the MGM Grand?

I've been working on the main part of that project for over 2 years now. The Aria.

We all have been a little freaked out that our job was going to get shut down, but we're still working. They have been touring investment bankers through the building looking for more cash. They need another 2 billion or so is what they say.

Dubai has held up their end of the deal, but MGM is behind in their promises. It doesent help that the illegal immigrant workers have screwed up alot of the work they were hired to do. The Harmon tower was supposed to go to 60 floors, but is now only going to less than half that due to improper placement of the iron laid into the concrete. The mistakes have been corrected for the most part, but the tower was disapproved to continue to any greater height. I can't say Im sad about it because it is one of the "alternative lifestyle" towers that was being marketed exclusively to the homosexual community.

Some entertainment we had last year was watching the room walls being put in so unlevel that they couldent set the bathroom cabinets to the wall. The bottom would touch but the top would be 3/4 of an inch out. This was rampant across the first 15 or so floors before they caught it. Wonder how much that cost to fix? perini apparently had no problem with unskilled illegal carpenters who bought their union card and green card on the same day. All they had to do was run the socials and call INS. But they just didn't care. MGM has since removed Perini contractors from most of the projects in the complex.

Dubai only knows that MGM was in charge and things arent turning out as they should and they want out. It might just get turned over to the bonding company to finish it all.

Do you see God's hand in this, or just corporate greed?

Well.... It is possible that God placed the unskilled Lamanites in charge of the homosexuals housing development, causing it to be a failure.

But these Lamanites are going to someday be responsible for the construction of the new Temple in New Jerusalem, so better that they learn from their mistakes now. And even more satisfying that they fail so epically on a degenerate building such as this.

There are going to be 20 some 'Old Testament floors of homo tower being built though, so if any of you are investors you can make a killing in the shag carpet market very soon.
