Forced Out of Retirement

Good grief. I try to retire, and look what happens? In particular, my attention was called to this posting:

Daniel Peterson wrote:Incidentally, I have a hunch -- though, as yet, no real evidence to support it -- that GoodK's legal threat may be aided and abetted by a certain other person who regards me with obsessively malignant hatred and who has conducted a focused crusade of character assassination against me for the past three years.

I will make every effort that I can, if this goes to trial, to discover whether my hunch is correct and, if it is, to reveal that person's identity and involvement and to dissuade him very powerfully from further attempts to harm me.

Is this a threat to destroy my livelihood and family, and to take away my home and life savings? I would like to remind DCP that *he* was the one who has issued threats against *my* life; *he* was the one who has now thrice threatened to ruin me via legal means. I have never done anything remotely like that. I would like to remind The Good Professor (and anyone else) that I have focused completely on Mopologetic-related issues. As for this:

"a certain other person who regards me with obsessively malignant hatred and who has conducted a focused crusade of character assassination against me for the past three years."

I completely disagree with this characterization of me. I happen to like Doctor Peterson, to think that he is a good writer, and probably a pretty good guy (though I strongly dislike his Mopologetics, and think that he's got a nasty penchant for treating people badly online). If anyone is harboring "obsessively malignant hatred," it has to be DCP, who seems to be projecting here. Think about it: I'm gone for roughly a week, and every other post was "Scratch this, Scratch that." "Scratch must be at the center of this vast conspiracy."

In any event, I return to clear the air, and to taunt the Mopologists with my "Doctor" status, as I have a Ph.D. from Cassius University. "Mister" Scratch shall remain permanently buried.

Is all of this saber-rattling, posturing and dramatics to be taken seriously? Or is to entertain and amuse? Hard, for me, to imagine two (2) Doctors (PHDs) embroiled in such antics unless it is for sport. That's gotta be it. Right??

Hello Scratch,

Cassius University? I've never heard of it. Does it indeed exist and if so, where? Can you provide us a link to Cassius University to help support your claim?

Thanks and welcome back.

It is good to have you back Scratch. You are right about the conspiracy theories abounding on the board but it should be only natural since we now have lawsuits and accusations galore. And I must say that it all happened as you departed for greener pastures.

Now hopefully the board can overcome the accusations, conspiracies, name calling etc and focus on intelligient discussions about Mormon related topics.

Oh by the way, you are no longer god but are back in the nursery. Quite a come down unless Shades make you God again.

Welcome back, good Doctor. I am pleased to see that you now have some credentials to back up your dazzling rhetorical skills. I was sad to see you go, and I feared you were gone for good. Will you be sticking around for a while, or is this a surgical strike, so to speak?

(and yes, I possess ministerial credentials)

p.s. And can you convince Gadianton to come back too?

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

It goes on.

And on.

And on.

And on.

But it's going to go on without me.

I don't think that Scratch has a doctor's degree. He put the word doctor in quotation marks.
