Altered Usernames

What's the deal with changing posters' names when addressing their comments? I've seen a lot of this lately. William Schryver refers to Doctor Scratch as "Scrotch" or "Scrotch Rot" and calls cinepro "cynicpro" and calls Beastie "Beastlie". Daniel Peterson used to call Mr. Scratch "Scartch" and recently referred to a poster on MADB as Markkk (he must be a member of the Klan or something lol). I remember seeing Daniel Peterson called "Denial Peterson". Can anyone think of any other hilariously altered usernames? What have you been called or called someone else? Post them here or come up with some new ones.

I tend to get "Shmoe" and "Schmoe" a lot. Not sure if people aren't that observant, bad spellers, or are somehow trying to mock/insult me (if so... weeeeak).

But really makes me laugh is when someone changes "Schmo" to "Shmuck" like that's really gonna get me. It's as though they don't realize that "Schmo" is already an unflattering name, and that I use it because I don't take myself all that seriously (I tend to point and laugh at those who do).

I don't know... one or two well placed altered names could potentially be effective ("Denial Peterson" is excellent, for example), but when someone does it all the time as though that's the best they can do, insult-wise, I just pity the fool.

I do like to occasionally refer to Pahoran as Pa Whorin', only because it conjures up the image of some angry, raging drunk getting laid the only way he can, but again, if that was the best I could do, well... meh.

Nice. I'm going to refer to Pahoran as Pa-whore from now on. He's either from Whorlando, Florida or from Portland, Whoregon.

I agree, Schmo, that when people alter usernames as an insult, it's totally weak. Kudos to Schryver.

I agree that Denial Peterson isn't bad.

I've never been sure, though, exactly what it is that I'm supposed to deny. I've been told that I deny genetics and altogether repudiate science as "Satanic." But, since that's flatly untrue -- I have strong amateur interests in astronomy, cosmology, and geology, for instance, and can't think of a single principle of genetics that I find problematic -- I don't really think that works.

Who does? That's the tricky thing about denial. They don't call them "blind spots" for nothing.

Some of my biggest epiphanies in life have come from suddenly coming out of one denial or another.

I've been called "space", "spacey" or "space cadet". I'm not insulted at all because indeed I do enjoy the subjects of astronomy and space travel.

I think some of the original usernames are funny enough. I like to visit RFM just to read some of them:

"Koo Koo for Kaukaubeam"

"luminouswatcher"

"GayLayAle"

"Helamonster"

"Gullible's Travel's"

The Salamander Society has come up with a few unique acronyms:

Fake And Ridiculous Mormon Solutions - FARMS - 01/17/2006 - Hermey

Fight Against Real Mormon Scholars - FARMS - 01/17/2006 - Hermey

Facts Are Ignored Repeatedly - FAIR - 01/17/2006 - Hermey

Fight Against Intelligent Research - FAIR - 01/17/2006 - Hermey

Frequent Artless Ridicule Made Simple - 01/28/2006 - John Weldon

Forcing An Imminent Rationalization - FAIR

Frantic Attempt to Ignore Reality

Failed All Reading, Mathematics, and Sciences

Futile Attempts to Rescue Mormon Scholarship

Fools Advocating Ridiculous Mormon crap

Acrimonious Acronyms

Why, thank you. I hope the same for you.
