Here, in case anybody's interested, is a link to the trailer for a new film entitled "Journey into America," about Islam in the United States:
http://journeyintoamerica.wordpress.com/Ambassador Akbar Ahmed is currently the Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies, American University in Washington DC, the First Distinguished Chair of Middle East and Islamic Studies at the US Naval Academy, Annapolis, and a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He has taught at Princeton, Harvard, and Cambridge Universities and is considered “the world’s leading authority on contemporary Islam” by the BBC. He has advised General David Petraeus, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, and Secretary Michael Chertoff on Islam and foreign policy. He is regularly interviewed by CNN, CBS, BBC, and Fox News and has appeared several times on the “Oprah Winfrey Show.” He is the author of over a dozen award-winning books, including Discovering Islam, which was the basis of the BBC six-part TV series called “Living Islam.” His most recent book is Journey into Islam.
I met with the people doing it -- including Professor Akbar Ahmed -- a few months ago when they visited Utah:
Their brief account of that visit occurs here:

NO, I'm not interested. I don't like Islam at all. It makes me sick to my stomach. I agree with Kevin Graham that Islam is evil and antiChrist. Further, I don't like anything you write about Islam.
I trust you got a kick telling Jersey Girl, "NO". You ain't fooling me, none. You like to pull chains and push buttons. Very unJesus like. I guess I'm judging a little, oh well. Good thing you ain't my bishop, you'd be running to the stake president!

Dr. Peterson,
How do you account for 'taqiyya' and what you're posting? Do you feel like the Sunni world of Islam has adopted this technique in regards to Western culture and politics?
Very Respectfully,

I don't think
taqiyya is relevant to what I posted. And no, I don't think that the Sunnis, by and large, have adopted
taqiyya.

I know it ain't PC, PaulO, but I don't care. I don't like Islam at all, either.
The other day, I was in Target and a Muslim couple came in the door as I was leaving. He was dressed comfortably and casually in the Oklahoma heat, but his wife was covered from head to toe in black--the only things showing were her hands and her eyes. I was wearing a tank top and that nasty man was leering at my boobs while his lovely wife was walking around hidden from the world. I actually had to restrain myself from kicking him in the shins. I was filled with loathing for him. He disgusted me.
Ugh. Muslim mysogynists.

And, KA, with that anecdote you've pretty well summed up the entire substance and fourteen-century-old legacy of Islam, I suppose -- from al-Ghazali to Ibn al-‘Arabi, from ‘A'isha to Rabi‘a al-‘Adawiyya, from Behzad to Sinan, from al-Kindi to Ibn Sina, from Nizam al-Mulk to Salah al-Din, from Khadija to Fatima to Bint al-Shati‘, from Indonesia and Malaysia to Morocco and Andalusia, from Nairobi to Samarqand, from Casablanca to Istanbul.

Cute but transparently irrelevant attempt at distraction.
KimberlyAnn wrote:Have any of the Muslims you mentioned in the above post been baptized by proxy? Just curious.
Very possibly. I don't know.

No, that would be me in my tank top.

Irrelevant? Almost certainly. But others will be the judges of whether it's cute or not.
