Suspended?
I've been suspended at MADb. Any idea why?

Re: Suspended?
Hmmm. I did a search on your last couple of posts and didn't find any mod comments.
If I were going to guess, however, it would probably be calling Pahoran a hypocrite. I half expected to get suspended for posting his old post about the schizophrenic, but I couldn't let it pass. I know we human beings are blind to our own hypocrisy, but his was so rank and obvious I had to comment.

What's the deal with Pahoran calling you Mikey-boy? Ooooh, that's gotta hurt. He ruins nearly every thread on that board with his bigotry and stupidity. Pahoran does far more to threaten the credibility of Mormon apologetics than any critic, IMHO. Notable apologists should steer clear of him...guilt by association and all that.

Have any top-tier critics publicly denounced Pahoran's M.O.?

By top-tier critics do you mean top-tier apologists?
If so, not that I'm aware of. But I haven't been following the MAD board much lately.

Re: Suspended?
Back on ZLMB, some believers, privately in chat, would express disapproval of Pahoran's style. I don't recall any doing so publicly, however. Usually they praise him.

Thanks for searching Beastie.
I was just informed that I was banned for taking cheap shots, and for abusing quotes (whatever that means).
As for cheap shots... I asked the question, "Pahoran, a hypocrite?" I thought this was safe because 1) it was expressed in the form of a question, and 2) because he was (in both cases) being hypocritical.
As for "abusing quotes": maybe it was because I posted quotes in new threads, to provide context showing why they were started. Like, for instance, I provided a quote from Pahoran (implying that there is no such thing as an honest critic) in the new thread about whether or not an honest critic is an oxymoron. And in John W's thread about his apology for blowing up yesterday; and his explanation that he was miffed by board participants expressing pleasure over irritating ex-Mormons. I quoted Selek and JWhitlock to give context to the new thread.
The two-day suspension that I have isn't all that bad. It could be worse, I guess. It just sucks that I am suspended so quickly, without warning, and while other believing participants on MADb aren't having to walk on the same egg-shells that are at the non-believing-participants feet.
We all know that if Pahoran/Selek/Droopy/etc. were non-believers, they would have been forever banned from MADb a long time ago... so I will stop preaching to the choir.
I could use a break from MADb. I need to focus my time on condensing my thesis for Sunstone and Dialogue anyway.

Re: Suspended?
I'm increasingly of the opinion that critics should boycott MADB. Their presence gives the board a legitimacy which it does not deserve, given its gross moderatorial double-standard.

{Chuckle} Coming from Russell C. McGregor—a has-been apologist who hasn't made a single significant contribution to Mormon scholarship during his entire cyber-space career—I'd have to say that his condescending title rings hollow... a tinkling cymbal of sorts.
