Beastie rocks my socks.

Over at Planet MAD, one Pahoran, ever the exemplary Christian, has published a vicious attack thread on our very own Beastie. Apparently, she had called him on a minor point on another thread.

He responds with some amazing hatred and spittle, eventually calling our scholar a "Little Yapping Cur."

Some posters, even members attempt to get him to calm down and stop attacking Beastie, but the lovely lass responds:

I already responded to this, Pahoran. Nothing in the Z thread, or in the news-clippings, or in your own posts, would indicate that the brother was an apostate, much less that you were primarily referring to him.

The topic of the discussion was more specific than you are indicating here. The topic was specific - when apostates blame the church for their marital problems, are they likely lying? Your clear stance was "yes, they are lying", and the apostate you used as an example was Gino.

I do think it's interesting that you can get away with starting a thread that calls me a name even in its title - but not that surprising, given all the other name-calling and personal attacks I've endured since I began posting here again this week.

Smack, and I am in love!

So will the "mods" take action? Will Beastie be banned? Will Pahoran be censured? I am nearly to the point of avoiding the place if they do nothing to get this little monkey under control.

Beastie is awesome! She is class all the way.....always has been.

Why she even bothers to deal with MAD is beyond me.

We love you, Beastie!

Well, I am glad to be of service.

I went ahead and provided the relevant posts from the original Z thread in question. Yes, it was an overload of information, but the ZLBM board now requires registration before being able to view links, so I felt it necessary.

I must warn you, though: enjoy the show while you can. I can only take MAD in small doses and will doubtless need another 3 month vacation from the place after this episode. I wouldn't have posted there again at all, but when I read Pahoran criticizing Dr. W for using the case of a mentally ill woman to criticize the church's theology, I was also gobsmacked.

Here's a link to the MAD thread:

and a link to the Z thread in question:

It's too late and I'm too tired to do it tonight, but tomorrow I'll add some direct quotes for those who can't access MAD.

by the way, I accept tithing.

LOL! Great job Beastie. Sure is nice to have your help, to talk sense to the senseless, and put Pahoran (Moderator Note)in real life information deleted. in his rightful place.

Now... if we could just get him (and the several other sneering swashbucklers there) to shut up long enough to allow us to engage the intelligent and civil apologists... sigh.

I long for the day when the moderators come to realize that MADb is better off without Pahoran. I was hopeful that today is the day. But I guess not.

Isn't it interesting how people long for different things? I long for the day when those intelligent and civil apologists realize the futility that is MAD and migrate here, for intelligent and civil discussion, leaving Pahoran, Juliann, and assorted other MAD denizens in the dust. And when the critics finally realize it is they who keep MAD alive, not the apologists, no matter how intelligent and civil they may be. Juliann owes her hits to the critics, not the apologists.

I have to agree. I have a total crush on beastie -- based solely on her intellectual prowess.

Since the topic is Beastie, I had a quick question. Is Beastie the same person as Trixie and Seven of Nine from the old Z board? Or am I confusing my peeps.

Pahoran is an unmitigated asshole.

I disdain deceitful, emotionally abusive drunks (I've had more than my share of alcoholics lately), but Pahoran might be worse. He's deceitful and abusive even without the alcohol. I hope he never picks up a beer.

Brilliant Beastie owned him on MADb. It was good to see.

Actually, a beer might do Pahoran some good.

Yes to both of the above.
