He's arguing that security personnel suppressing lewd and inappropriate behavior means their standards are dictated by an organization that doesn't live the golden rule (implying that the church is not doing to others as they would have done to them). This is utter idiocy, since that logic would accuse the cop doing his job of the same, and the parent or husband doing their job of the same as well. Merely inconveniencing or even physically detaining or hurting someone does not preclude living the golden rule if their behavior warranted it. If your understanding of his point is different, please describe it for me.

"lewd and inappropriate behavior" If it really was lewd behavior as defined by law later when they had a big kissing party they would not have stood around and done nothing.

They admitted being lewd. They said it was a normal response to the guards' "singling them out."

Hello Mr. Maklelan,
I watched the video again just to be sure we are, indeed, watching the same video. I cannot fathom how you think surrounding the couple, videotaping the couple, finger pointing in an aggressive manner at the couple, viciously attacking the couple, and then throwing one of the gentlemen to the ground is the way any member of the Church would expect to be treated if he or she were simply walking through a "little bit of Paris" holding hands and sharing a peck on the cheek.
The examples you provided are not equivalent and, in fact, are a bit irrational, my friend. So. Once again, will you please answer my question?
After watching that video, can you honestly say the Mormon church is living by the Golden Rule?
Very Respectfully,
Doctor CamNC4Me

Yes, if I ever become a gay man aware of the Church's property status and then proceed to kiss publicly on Church property please arrest me. I'm too stupid to be allowed out in public. It's for my own good.

Hello Mr. Nehor,
I do not believe there is a sign saying "Gay Men Must Not Show Affection on These Premises". Would you feel comfortable if your Church treated a heterosexual couple in the same fashion for simply holding hands and sharing a kiss?
Very Respectfully,
Doctor CamNC4Me

Hello Dr. CamWhore,
There is no such sign. However, these fine specimens of humanity knew it was LDS owned. They protested the original acquisition.
I would disapprove of such an action against a heterosexual couple. However, I do not see heterosexual and homosexual couples as being equivalent.
Die slowly choking on a pineapple,
Nehor

Hello Mr. Nehor,
I see you are your usual caustic self today. What a disappointment on this, the Lord's day. I suppose Mormonism does not "perfect" one's self. What a shame.
That being said, I appreciate you acknowledging that the Mormon church is not living the Golden Rule.
Very Respectfully,
Doctor CamNC4Me

That's for the safety of the officers. As the young man's statement makes clear, it was originally just one or two officers, but as the couple became belligerent and refused to leave, more came over. That's standard when people aren't cooperating. The officers are reducing the possibility that someone gets hurt.
Doctor CamNC4Me wrote:videotaping the couple,
What a horrible infringement upon their rights to swing a security camera in their direction at 10:30 at night on private property when they're shouting profanities at a security officer.
Doctor CamNC4Me wrote:finger pointing in an aggressive manner at the couple,
There was no finger pointing. There was gesturing to calm down and pointing at the gates.
Doctor CamNC4Me wrote:viciously attacking the couple,
No honest human being could call what they did "viciously attacking." You know that as well as everyone else who watched the video. They refused to leave and continued to shout profanities at security personnel on private property. They had every right to detain them, and they did it by the book, just trying to secure their hands behind them.

Again, no honest human being could watch that video and claim the kid was thrown to the ground. He very clearly tried to lunge away from the officer and fell to the ground. Even gay-friendly groups who analyzed the video stated he fell, and was not pushed.

Of course, and you're either being wholly dishonest or you have some of the worst cognitive dissonance I've ever seen. Your evaluation of the video is abominable.

Hello Sir,
Did you just say the Mormon church was living the Golden Rule in the way it dealt with this couple?
Very Respectfully,
