What an interesting read.
Thanks for reminding me why I'm glad I'm not a Mod anymore. Seriously.
That whole mess being played on the board was a nightmare. I don't agree with YB's actions regarding alerting Eric's parents to his initial posts here, nor do I condone him basically cornering Eric into revealing his in real life identity.
That being said, Eric acted like an immature brat during a lot of what went down on this board between YB and him. Eric, did, in fact, post YB's in real life picture in his avatar, and Shades had to remove it. Eric also created extensive work for the Mods in posting in real life information on YB multiple times.
The whole thing was a real mess.
Ugh. This kind of stuff makes me ambivalent about being on the forum at all.

Thankfully, Eric is no longer a poster here. I am hoping everyone learned from that mess and we won't have a repeat incident.

What seems crazy is all the support that Eric had from a core set of posters here, and he comes back and bites the hands that were kind to him. I saw that while I was out with my cancer treatments, he came back with a vengeance.
He turned into one scary dude.

Any intelligent person would immediately grasp the reason.
Because Yahoo Bot lies incessantly about everything, and will try to weasel out of the many things he has done to demonstrate what a liar he is, if history is not dredged up to prove he is lying. And yet, he will continue to lie. Still, for those who care to investigate the lies, they will learn the truth of his pathological deception soon enough.
Sometimes I wonder about your basic intelligence.
Yup. It was never just Eric.
People, it is not difficult to stay anonymous. Just don't talk about yourselves in any detail on a public message board.

And there really was ridiculousness on YB's part when it came to how he treated Beastie.

Indeed.
And although Yahoo Bot did his usual 'no case, abuse the plaintiff's attorney' act about it, he really did come off rather badly in that encounter, didn't he?

To be honest, the whole thing happened so long ago, I don't really remember the details, and I haven't bothered to reread this entire thread.
I will say that YB has, over the years, developed a pattern of how he hones in on certain individuals and decides to "push their buttons" and treat them poorly. For someone who is a former Bishop, I think it's a rotten way to act. If Everybody Wang Chung wants to make an example of an apologist who has been an embarrassment to his religion for treatment of others, YB is a much better example than Dan, in my opinion.
However, I think that everyone is entitled to second chances. YB has a really great knowledge of the gospel, and I think that if he presented things in an amicable way, there is a lot to be learned from him.
