There is no official story.

Nehor is right. There is no official story.

The correct story is hidden in the non-faith-promoting history, courtesy of Joseph's paranoia about being discovered with one of his extra wives. The whole temple endowment was co-opted in order to ensure that those in his inner circle would be able to easily find the others who were in on the secret.

An applicable start, don't you think?

I fail to see how the Temple garment relates to plural marriage.

Uhhh ok.

And may I inquire, Sister Harmony, do you sport these false undies?

Is wearing these undies not a sign of support of Joseph Smith and what he did with these teen brides??

There is no official story.
Why is that ?

What if an investigator asks about the origins?

In two years of trying to convert people this never came up once. A few asked about the significance of the garment but that was it. I imagine that since almost no one asks/cares it's not a high priority to create an OFFICIAL story.

They represent the coat of skins that God gave Adam in the Garden of Eden, after Adam partook of the forbidden fruit and realized (or Satan, in the guise of a walking, talking snake, told him) that he was naked. You see, up until this time, no human being on Earth had ever worn clothes before. It took a talking snake to figure that out. Now all righteous human beings on Earth, coincident with learning the secret handgrips and the secret words that will allow them to pass the sentinels that guard the way into the Celestial Kingdom, wear these garments to represent the covenants that they have taken.

I'm sorry, that's all I can say about any of this. If I say too much more, well, I was endowed in 1988, and believe me, it would be bad if I did. He who hath enough years to have been endowed prior to some date in early 1990, let him hear.

Your inappropriate comment uncovers your agenda.

None of your business. However, if you stick around long enough, you'll be able to figure it out.

You'll have to ask someone who cares.

Why are you so interested in the underwear Harmony is wearing?
