DCP and vapid sidekick,

Stop pretending that Mormon apologia entails academic rigor or a steep learning curve. I am an academic, but you don't have to be one to see Mormon apologia for the fetid pile of excrement that it is.

When that noted paleontologist Daniel C. Peterson writes an article discussing pre-Columbian horse finds, the information that calls it into question doesn't require one to have a Ph.D. in paleontology. It's much more banal in its errors. There are very similar reasons why Beastie is able to address flaws in assertions like those that started this post. Misusing a source is misusing a source. Failing to mention problematic information for your own assertions is just that. And why would someone so well-credentialed be given to sophomoric errors? I'd submit that the quality of the position being defended doesn't allow for anything else.

He's a real person with a real doctorate. If DCP has ever engaged in substantive discussion, it was too rare and too long ago for me to remember. It's just his thing - no substance, but plenty of time spent on sarcastic quips, and PLENTY of time spent on the inadequacies of various critics.

Hello,

Well, what a shame that he spends so much time avoiding contributions to this forum rather than a few substantive posts, that would, by far, require far less time and effort than the endless "quips" and logical fallacies he commits on a regular basis requires in sheer manhours.

He surely is no academic. I am convinced he is simply a hoax being foisted upon this forum. This is no other explanation for this character's perpetual inanity than it is simply a "character" that someone has developed in order to amuse himself. I would most likely point the finger at William Schryver, but he seems to have declined the accusation!

Dr. Peterson,

Please, when you address me, use the appropriate title of "Doctor". I worked very, very hard to achieve that title and it is appropriate in this venue. I have the feeling if I were to address you in any other manner on the Mormon Apologetics and Discussion Board I would be banned in short order. This is simply a professional courtesy. Thank you.

Exactly!

in my opinion, if a undergraduate college student made these sort errors in a class paper, he/she'd be given a poor grade. And yet, even after these errors have been pointed out, folks like DCP still herald these folks as the only reliable experts on the subject. But what choice does someone like DCP have?

by the way, I still haven't heard back yet from either Dr. Miller or Dr. Jones. Didn't Chris email Dr. Jones last year, and never receive a reply?

Hello,

I find a bit odd that one is directed with the Herculean task of pouring over dozens of books, editorial reviews, scholarly papers, and to top it all off engage in correspondence with people that are likely to not engage in correspondence. What a mysterious bit of behavior. Rather than simply answer questions and have a thoughtful exchange our good apologists simply insult, dissemble, and obfuscate. How odd.
