Was on a trip visiting relatives/friends and the old homestead areas of Kansas, Oklahoma and the Midwest. Stopped along the way at a few libraries as my spouse did some checking on records and books of the areas for her genealogy hobby. I got bored and started looking at their collections, especially LDS related. Most had nothing related to LDS folk. Some had Book of Mormon on the shelves but not always in the Religion section. I asked about this and was told by 7 we stopped at that since moving Book of Mormon from Religion to Fiction... they don't get stolen from the Library nearly as often. Seems the local ministers will come in and 'disappear' a Book of Mormon from the religion section even as some of the LDS missionaries in the areas will come in and 'disappear' books referring to the predominant religions in the area.
Odd to me that moving the Book of Mormon to Fiction makes that much of a difference or that they even notice. One Librarian told me a local Mormon Bishop objected to the Fiction shelving and Joseph Smith as Author so they keep some in the Religion section and one in Fiction, both listed that way in the card catalog. The Religion shelved books keep 'getting lost' somehow but the Fiction book seems to stay.
Where is the Book of Mormon in your local library?

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

So does the CC list the author of the copy in the religous section as God?
