Jesus was against divorce. Now science backs Jesus.

One of the way to discourage divorce was to say that If a man divorces his wife, except for adultery, and if he remarries then he commits adultery. It's a double whammy for the woman. If she divorcees for any reason and then remarries then she commits adultery.

You remarry after divorce for irreconcilable differences- you commit adultery.

That standard would require and great deal of sacrifice and discipline. It would be too much for Mormons today to be held to that standard - that might even be called raising the bar. Or better reestablishing the bar. What would happen if they took a persons temple recommend if one remarried after being divorced.
