Soil Level Analysis of the Hill Cumorah Area?

I am curious to know whether anyone has done any kind of soil level analysis of the hill Cumorah area to determine where the layer of soil that was on the surface in about 400 AD was located in the early 1820s.

The reason I am interested is that the stone that covered the box containing the gold plates was described as being rounded on top and partially exposed. The implication being that soil levels in the area around the stone box did not change too much between 400 AD and 1820 AD or the stone would have been completely buried or totally uncovered. Has anyone looked into this?

On a related note, has anyone determined a limit on the size of the stone that could cover the stone box. The size of the stone may be a factor depending on how much the soil level changed.

Your attempt to apply logic to the problem is admirable, but naïve. Unlike normal stone boxes and their earthly treasures, all the artifacts having to do with Mormon origins had the power to rise and sink through the earth completely out of sync with the strata. These treasures could even fly into the heavens when their time had come. The best advice would be to not try to think about these artifacts scientifically, or logically. Just accept them as premises of Mormonism, or else reject them.

I'm just trying to get a handle on which aspects of the narrative must be explained by "with God all things are possible" and which don't.

All things can jump between the two categories as necessary.

I would imagine that when the time-space vortex was opened in the hill, a distinct tachyon radiation signature was left behind, both around 400 AD and also when the Angel reclaimed these religious antiquities.
