When the Brethren finally open the books, then we will know the exact sum by which the LDS people have been scammed. LOL!
That fails to explain the commands I get that i don't want. I was actually shocked when I got the okay for net. I went in expecting a no.
This is the kind of comedy that makes my day. Nehor reminds me of a friend of mine years ago who wasn't particularily religious yet employed the same self-deceptive tactics. He liked this girl, a lot. He of course, denied it. He wasn't so much concerned about her knowing, but the crap he'd take from the fella's made it undesireable to reveal his interests. One night, he informed us he was going on a walk. So we smiled and one of us said, "Going to see ...?" Of course he wasn't! In fact, according to him, he would be just going on a random walk and had no idea where he'd end up.
So many hours later, he returns. Where did he go? You guessed it. He explained himself by saying he was surprised that's where he ended up because it wasn't his plan at all.
So you see, Nehor, the trick isn't convincing us that you received revelation that you found unexpected, but rather to convince us that you received revelation that
we'd find unexpected! I don't think anyone here would be surprised to find Nehor getting a revelation that he could pay tithing on his Net income. LOL!
I can think of a number of Mormons who I would be surprised to hear receive personal revelation OKing it for Net "tithing".

This is never going to happen unless the government forces them to open them. And then, I suspect there will be two sets of the books... an "official" set for the members and the government, and the other set that shows what's real. They are never going to be open and aboveboard with the members. We have an entire generation of leaders who have no idea what that means, and are protecting their various backsides just as much as any politician ever did.
Women will have the priesthood before those books are opened voluntarily.

No, that really isn't the trick at all. You see, you wouldn't believe me no matter what I told you.
So.....you insulted and demeaned guys because they liked girls? I don't find myself particularly surprised about this. Jealous the guy's attention was elsewhere?

An obvious comeback Nehor. Though, it's interesting how the terrible sin of homosexuality becomes useful to you TBMs when you're in need of an insult.
---
Another "Nehor" revelation story. I had these two friends who were boyfriend and girlfriend for a long time. The guy, most people would say, was way out of her league, so she had these weird little control things going out of fear he would break up with her. One thing she did was to pull a Nehor. She prayed and as everyone but Nehor might guess, it was confirmed to her that she should marry him. Now, that itself didn't shock her the same way Nehor was shocked about his instruction to pay less tithing. But it was also revealed to her that she was his last chance. If he were to break it off with her, he would be headed for spiritual death. And that, my friends, worried her greatly, given her love for him.
I believe she may have been almost as worried as the Nehor was that the church might get itself in a bind with 30% less money coming from him. But not quite as worried as Joseph Smith was that if he didn't have sex with underage girls, the Lord would destroy them, and him, with a flaming sword.

When in Rome.......
I've had it hurled at me so many time I thought I'd try it out.

So??? I do not believe claim of revelation in the Church. If I did I'd be married to a semi-active girl who told me that God wanted me to marry her. I disagreed with her revelation and did not reciprocate her interest or attraction and could see nothing but misery in my future if I married her. I talked over with God myself and spurned her advances.

I wasn't worried that the Church would be in a bind. If there was an angelic visitation with a sword surely you can see that it would be of a different kind then a hormone-ravaged girl thinking that a guy was her destiny, offering a few prayers, and turning that into God wanting them together after a few prayers.
As an anecdotal note, I find that these revelations such as you describe always seem to come from people in the Church who don't live all the commandments. I'm sure that's not universal but I've drawn my own conclusions based on this.

Also, returning to the scam, I hear the federal gov't fell for the same scam when trying to make some quick cash:

The first person I mentioned was not active and lived virtually none of the commandments. There are some personality parallels between you two though, which is why I brought up that incident. The second person was very active and lived all of the commandments. If there is a commandment she wasn't living, I can pretty much guarantee you that she had personal revelation either exempting her from it or that questioned either the commandment's validity or application to her -- similar to...

Personally, I thought Beneficial life was a great company to work with. Too bad.
That is too bad, but thankfully the Church said it will fulfill existing policies till the last beneficiary dies.
