If you could go back

Post by _harmony »

If you could go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be?

Would you choose a different mate? Not serve a mission? Different career? Fewer or more children? What would you change?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

You know what, harm? It's tempting, isn't it to say things like...

I would have grown up in an "intact" family or I wouldn't have been poor or ...whatever.

But I'm someone who tends to look at all the things one might wish they could have changed and recognizes that those are where my strengths came from. My passions were borne from hardship and obstacles.

I wish I had finished college when I was young, had the time, before kids.

Option A: I would go back to January 2007 and make my mother have monthly abdominal CAT scans for pancreatic cancer. Don't know if catching it early would have saved her, but it would have given her a better shot.

Option B: I had a friend who was kidnapped, raped and murdered when I was 9 and she was 11. I would go back and tell her not to leave the house that night. Then again, I do wonder, if the killer had not grabbed her, would he have picked up someone else's little girl?

There's my morbid answers for you. If you have a time machine I can borrow, send me a PM.

I was going to say that but I wouldn't have known what I wanted to do with it or have had the wisdom/experience to apply it.

I would've been less shy in high school and more ready to try some of the clubs and extracirricular activities. I would've played for the soccer team instead of switching to football.

Practically speaking, I'd have not taken the Prednisone. I'd have just endured. So many of my choices now are truncated because of that short term relief.

Would not have left my son at the day care center -- where he died

Did they catch the guy?
