why me wrote:You are showing your own intolerance as an exmo when you claim that there is no middle way. Former TBMs who may have been most judgemental of less actives or inactives usually keep the same deameanor as an exmo and show intolerance toward inactive people who defend the lds church.

Over on the postmorg, they are the most judgemental group you ever would want to meet. I know that they gave you hugs over there but they are very judgemental as exmormons are on their board.

The mantra that there is no middle way is just wishful thinking since many could not find their own middle way as members. But it does exist. There are many inactives or semiactives that are not hostile against the lds church and would defend it, if they were given the chance.

When you get off your hypocritical and habit-fattened ass and actually attend Church, pay tithing, keep the Word of Wisdom, and do all that is requried of you - then I might take you seriously.

You are just a pretentious hypocrite. As I was. Now wake-the fuck-up.

No problem Ray.

You are on the right side of life now.

Well, I'll be perfectly honest. I thought the temple was the best part of Mormonism. I had already performed over 100 endowments in less than a year after coming off my mission. I really enjoyed attending the temple in Seattle before moving to Dallas. I spent many hours in the temple including kneeling at the altar by proxy.

I'll confess that the temple made me feel pretty good and after leaving I felt quite renewed and, sanctified, in a manner of speaking.

Do I miss the temple now? Yes and no. Is there life after the temple? Yes, indeed there is. It starts with Calvin Klein underwear.

The Bible is full of male voices acting in the name of Jesus or of god. You just need to get used to it. Your issue is with god and not with the brethern.

One day you're going to wake up and wonder why in hell you ever defended Mormons.

In the meantime - happy delusions.

It would be great if someone would prove the Book of Mormon false. I would celebrate that happening. No one should be living a fraud. But that hasn't happened yet. Wishful thinking on the part of the antimormons just doesn't cut it. Until the book is proven false, I am under no delusions.

Tell us YOUR middle ground of Mormonism.

Do you attend church services AT ALL? No
Pay ANY TITHES? no
Attend temple? no
Do home teaching? no
Have home teachers over? yes
Married? no In the temple? yes
Wear gaments? no
How many years ago did you do any of the above? don' remember

Do you drink alcohol? no
Smoke?
Drink coffee or tea? no
View porn? what is porn?
Masturbate? solitary sex?

Please be candid and honest. It's not like any one on these boards knows you in real life.

Such is my middle way.

For me the issue isn't whether it's false or not. That's like saying that Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress is a "fraud". That's something you don't understand. Not even Mc Murrin considered the Book of Mormon a fraud, but when asked why he never took it seriously nor tried to find out if it was true or not, he likened that to going to the North Pole to see if there really is a Santa.

You are looking at all the wrong angles. By just reading the book and considering the fatal anachronisms it will eventually become very obvious what the Book of Mormon isn't - history.

As one poster noted on BCC, Elder Holland's denunciation of Book of Mormon detractors in his recent conference talk "focused explicitly on divinity, not historicity per se. The fiery arrows directed at the fraud-criers sailed passed the inspired fiction crowd unscathed."

I think it's a case of "in essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity."

I am not sure the claims that the Book of Mormon is of divine origin can be separated from historical claims. Who was Moroni?
