Slate has a list of the 80 most powerful people over the age of 80. Thomas S. Monson takes the #1 spot.

The top spot this year goes to 82-year-old Thomas S. Monson, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the only person on the list to rule over millions of people as a prophet of God. Enjoy it while you can, Monson—you're only old once.

The only problem is, the geezer in the picture isn't Monson but somebody else.

The picture is the newest apostle Neil Andersen.

So it is.

I wonder why they didn't even put Monson on the list last year, when he was an 81-year old prophet of god. I suppose the Prop 8 hubbub finally put him on their radar. Oh, the ignominy!

Somebody must have brought the gaffe to their attention, 'cause now the picture has been fixed.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for the link. Seems like a prophet of God ought to at least be an "honorable mention"..but first place? Wow.
