Yes, there was some Amway at Church. Before that there was Shaklee. I understand both these MLMs worked closely with religious groups. Ever wonder about the LDS connection to Enzyte, the natural male enhancement and now the is one for women too? Even with the connection, they couldn't be an advertiser on KSL TV during General Conference.

D&C 18:15,16
" 15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!"
YOU SHOULD BRING MANY SOULS, not you bring one and they multiply. No 'butterfly effect' here.
