I'm going to have lots of fun henceforth, and if it's the last thing I do - I will wipe Mormon apologetics with the cheap, crappy toilet paper it deserves. The whiners, and whingers and wimps. Let them come here to debate and I will use my free speech to kick their asses to kingdom cum.
Wow, sounds like a great finish, Ray. They say it gets harder the older you get!
;-)
I just posted last night on the MAD board on a DCP thread. He is coming to Dallas in early November to talk about Islam. The event will take place in a stake center I used to attend for many years. Maybe I'll go. I've got a pretty negetive view on all things Islam and it could do me well to soften my heart a little. Maybe DCP would be instrumental in helping me do that. What do you think?

Ditto.

The post was screened. If it went up later, it did not when I initially posted it. Enough is enough. If my account isn’t deleted it’s irrelevant, because I won’t be posting there again. I deleted my original account long ago, and didn’t post there for nearly two years. Nothing will be missed. The decision to go back was, in retrospect, a bad one. Nothing has nor will be gained, except perhaps more contention with TBMs. And that’s a complete and utter waste of time.
On Bsix’s thread I was not off-topic, and when I challenged the moderator’s decision I was told to “get back on topic” or leave the thread, and I chose to do the latter. That’s their rules (don’t question mod decisions), but the fact is that I could not be more on-topic than I was because the issue was intimidation, so either way I couldn’t win. Then when the screening took place I felt like it was just more censorship. The final straw. The real reason they tried to stop me posting on that thread is because I hit home with some “hard truth”, that in comparison to JWs, and even past Mormon persecution, they needed some “perspective”. That is what was insulting them.
So much for “free speech”. Isn’t it ironic?
Liz, I was quite angry at what happened, but I was referring to TBMs. I do have a few TBM friends on Facebook, including the missionary who baptised me in 1975. This was the first time we got back in real contact in 34 years. He knows my status, and how I view the Church, but has not said a negative word. So in reality I’m not even sure of his current status or view. For all I know he may be inactive, but I doubt it very much. We keep this on a friendship level, and don’t discuss Church, and I don’t care to discuss it. in my opinion Facebook isn’t a place to go and argue about Church; there’s enough of that on boards.
Dummy-spitting doesn’t help, but my anger is gone. However, my resolve to stay away from MAD isn’t, so I’m really back to where I was originally. I’m looking forward to the next three working nights and a change of pace.
I’ll be back on Wednesday with some riveting Sandra Tanner stuff. :)
Isn't this a little bit of an overreaction for a message board screening your posts?
(Which seems perfectly appropriate, judging by your posts in this thread.)
