Ezias,

Have a couple of shots of Jack Daniels whiskey right before bedtime. The bad dreams will go away. You need to beat the dreams at their own game.

You need some whiskey to calm your nerves. Drink your medicine and the boogy man will depart. It's a simple fix.

God Paul!

Couldn't he just have a warm bath and a hot glass of milk? I seriously don't like you pushing the alcohol. I'm not against people drinking but, drinking to anesthetize yourself isn't good for anyone!

MCB said, "So difficult to admit that they are so deeply involved in loving something that has so deeply hurt them. When, in actuality, deeply inside, they know and are afraind to admit it."

I haven't really thought this out, but could this be likened to the person whose spouse either physically, verbally, or emotionally abuses them?

I have another comment, but may start a thread instead.

Jersey, have you ever wondered why God gave us alcohol? It's supposed to make us feel better. It's a medicine that should be measured in an appropriate cup and taken as prescribed.

Ezias needs to get a decent night sleep. I can't think of a better way to do that than by dowing a couple shots of Jack Daniels. There is no time for counseling or warm baths. For God's sake, just take the shots and call it a night. It works.

What useless BS, Paul.

Sure. What Ezias needs is yet another problem in his life.

Ezias,
I don't understand this. Blood Atonement is a minor doctrine hardly mentioned anywhere. The Temple items you mention are greatly misunderstood. The motions were made in regards as to what you would rather have happen than your speaking what the signs and tokens are. There is a current thread in the telestial that discusses this.

You are building up in your mind somethign that isnt even real.

I feel I need to stick up for Nightlion here, His metaphor is quite appropriate - the more one tries to suppress unwanted thoughts, the harder it is to do so. Diversion is much more effective. Nightlion may have different religious beliefs, but given our history, he is not really an outlier on the wierd-o-meter. And he is a sincere, thoughtful and creative bloke in general.

For Ezias- can you negotiate not wearing garments with Sister Ezias? Maybe some 'civilian' underwear can be found which leaves similar seam marks. That would be a start. From there, if you can't avoid the stimuli that elicit the unwanted thoughts (probably impossible in Utah), you will need to desensitize. It may take a while to find the best method and a counsellor is a good first step. The different boards, sort of, reflect the different ways people desensitize - From outrage and mockery on RFM to acceptance and forgiveness on Po-Mo. I am not sure what predominates here, but I can develop obsessions and still get tolerated so it works for me. But DO get objective, professional advice; I hope things work out for you and your family.

Paul,

You're killing me. lol! Well, it is a good point you make. I mean, for those who look at common denominators to cultures around the world, if there is any one thing God gave us, it's alcohol.

---

now on the topic of the thread, I had bad dreams, not nightmares, but bad dreams that made me feel depressed in the morning on two or three occasions max post mission. In the dream for some inexplicable reason, I learned that I had to go on a second mission. lol. These dreams were a couple years after.
