Okay, if the recording is really so raunchy that porn sites can't play it, then I'm in agreement here. She is a hypocrite.

Huh? I didn't see that a porn site wouldn't play it, Scottie. I dunno. I don't go to those sites, so I'll leave that up to others to determine.

Did you read Cinepro's post on page 1?

But even blogger Nik Richie of the porn-purveying TheDirty.com didn't want anything to do with it.

"It was very graphic," Richie tells E! News, "and our lawyers wouldn't let us put it on the site."

Sounds like it exceeds masturbation.

Amen to that Scottie. There is the character (preacher's wife) in HBO's "True Blood" that gets it on with Jason Stackhouse that is the quintessential "dirty prude".

Image She shore is purdy.

But back to business. No - You cannot preach morality if you are hiding an immoral past (immoral to your own belief system) and have even a smidgen of credibility. Secondly, you preach against the vice you committed, not make blanket morality judgements against others for which you have no knowledge or experience.

Still - I would happily make a porn tape with the young miss Prejean because I am not a hypocrite and do not preach against the making of porn tapes by consenting adults. And if Miss Prejean is not available, the lovely Anna Camp would suffice just fine. However, I would draw the line and would probably not do a porn tape with Scottie. That would just be way too weird. And the pay would suck for sure.

I'm happy that my tithing money was not covertly funneled into neither the Maine Referendum nor Carrie Prejean's breast augmentation surgery.

Good point. I imagine quite a few E.V. tithers are not too happy about their tithes being used to fund Carrie Prejean's vapid endorsement of their homophobic views. Even if she is technically not being hypocritical - we have not heard her moralising about solosexual activity or voyeurism or sustained self-abuse or whatever else she has been up to.

You know, one of these days I would like just one famous person who gets exposed in a sex tape to not apologize and instead just say "whatever"! I mean really, the best thing she could have done is say "Opps, didn't want that released to the public, but if anyone wants to get their jollies watching the tape then more power to them." That would take most of the fun away from the people who get empowered by taking jabs at you as well as show that you were not ashamed of anything you did, you just did not see it as appropriate to release to the public. That would also serve to make anyone (media, the other lawyer, etc.) into the bad guy.

You guys do know how EV tithing and fundraising works, right?

Most local churches give full disclosure on how funds are being spent, or full disclosure is available if you ask. My own church discusses it at the start of every meeting. If they were sending money off to Carrie Prejean, I'd know.

If you're giving to an individual charity, we have awesome sites like MinistryWatch where you can check and see how transparent they're being with how they're spending their finances. It isn't like Mormonism where you write a check to your local church and you have no idea how they're spending the money. Not giving money to Carrie Prejean is as simple as not giving to an organization that supports her.

If I ever catch my local church donating money to an anti-gay-marriage initiative or an organization stupid enough to employ someone like Carrie Prejean, I'll have something to say about it.

(My current denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, did not make any contributions to Prop 8 as a denomination. Two large local ECCs in California donated a combined total of $1,300 to supporting it. That's out of about ~148 ECC churches in California.)

James Dobson, Mr. Focus on the Family himself and card carrying Evangelical Christian in good standing, opposes gay marriage (and I would presume homosexual acts), but does not think that masturbation is a sin. Go to the conclusions section of this page for his opinion on the subject.

If you go to http://family.org, Focus on the Family's web site, and do a search on the term masturbation you will find all kinds of condemnation of the practice.
