Lots of people, most of whom are not Mormon, take their own lives. Hell, I tried, and I don't consider that the fault of my having been Mormon. I'm very sorry for her family and hope they will be comforted at this terrible time. But I don't blame the church.

I wasn't blaming the Church. But the subject has been raised before regarding the high rate of teen suicides in Utah. At first I thought it was genetic because his Mother was once suicidal and suffered depressions, but then I just learned he was adopted.

I wasn't saying you were. I just get a little dismayed when people seem to distinguish a "Mormon suicide" from other suicides. I don't think that's fair, and it doesn't help. Just my two cents.

Maybe his biological parents had a genetic predisposition to depression. Or not.

Hello,

Since Death is so prevalent, why is suicide such a stigma on the people who commit it? We all try to commit a certain amount of control over the natural world. I do not understand the intent to castigate someone who simply wants to control the timing of his or her own death; since Death is inevitable why would we not attempt to control that, too?

An obsession with trying to see hidden homosexuality on a shabby pretext in others is surely a strong indicator of homosexuality within yourself.
