You're right, Nehor. There is no need for jealousy or exclusivity. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Give me my harem of stud muffins and we'll be just fine. :)

It is a constant reminder of every human being's limitless potential.

You nailed it, TD. And yet, this is exactly what you're doing here as you define what being a goddess or god will entail. If God is good, wouldn't you expect that being a god or goddess would be pretty cool? Whatever it entails?

You say that as if you have a choice as to what the afterlife is.

I would have no problem with such an afterlife existing.

If asked to live polygyny then, no problem. Here, it would be hard but doable.

Your post speaks to the problem with LDS doctrine regarding the afterlife.

It is sort of funny that people think they can understand the eternities because Joseph Smith (or any man for that matter), came up with a story.

I don't claim to understand the eternities. I have a few tidbits about it. That I have these tidbits does not mean I understand.

If I had to guess, I would say the chance of any human comprehending eternity is akin to an ant grasping the intricacies of the Internet.

Seriously.... you take our little tiny, itsy bitsy glimpse of understanding the universe and god and think this is somehow enough to comprehend eternities? Life? Existence? Really?

No.

It is silliness to argue about a make believe story. The reality is, anyone can make up a story about that which we know nothing. So what? Pretending it is real doesn't make it so, nor does a nice feeling.

True.

My disgust has nothing to do with jealousy.

Then what about polygamy is wrong to you?

This is craziness. These are NOT the only two choices except in a silly make believe story created by Joseph Smith. My choice would be to love and nurture my children. (Again, this is all silliness to even discuss).

Would you let them leave when the time came to make their own mistakes or lock them at home to make sure they were completely safe forever.

Again, what a silly choice. Neither is a good option and neither is an option any decent person would require.

God isn't decent; he's good. Really good. So good that it would make me tremble to look upon him. When you desire the good of the object of your love enough no price is too high to pay to make them as happy as possible.

The whole thing is craziness.

No.

I am the only one who has a choice as to what MY afterlife is. Joseph has nothing to do with it.

That puts a TON of certainty on your belief in what the afterlife holds in store for us. That seems like a fairly unhappy way to look at things. It' kind of like we are going to jail.

Luckily his idea of the afterlife is no more binding than anyone else's.

Hear, Hear! Maybe someone should break the news to him that God is not a "He".

P.S. nor a "She".
