John, you are a real asset to the board. Talk about much needed comic relief.

OK, this list really did make me laugh...

That's funny.

I always imagine Droopy speaking in Glenn Beck's voice. I picture him getting all misty when he talks about the evils of the left.

Now, let's not be mean. Loran is much more credible and likable than Glenn Beck. In fact, I would wager that Loran understands conservatism much better than Glenn Beck. He is also more intentionally funny, whereas Beck is simply unintentionally funny, my signature regardless.

Saying Glenn Beck is "unintentionally funny" doesn't quite work. Unless you are using the word "funny" to mean "strange". I think it is safe to say, Glenn Beck's attempts at "funny", fail miserably, and only make him look like a fool. As in, no one is laughing with him, they are laughing at him.

And that is precisely what I meant by unintentionally funny. In other words, like a really bad movie that takes itself very seriously, but which we laugh at because it is so bad and yet so earnest at the same time.

Slight derail (but then talking about Beck was already a derail), but my dad was here over the weekend. He was telling me that I really should watch Glenn Beck's show. He said, "Sometimes he gets really weird and weepy, and sometimes he's just plain nuts. But when he's on, he's on."

I didn't think that was much of a ringing endorsement. I caught Beck's radio show a couple of times when I was commuting in Houston a few years ago. He struck me as not as smart as Limbaugh, and not as shrill as Hannity. But there wasn't really anything that stood out. These days all I hear about him are the dumb-ass things he says.

At this point in the read, it was looking really good for Runtu's lineage.

by the way, Glenn Beck must be just speaking as a man when he does that.

But then Runtu's father continued, about Beck...
