So we had the sister missionaries over on Wednesday. We have three young children under 5 (typical Mormon family) and they enjoyed the company of our guests.

So of course the sisters began asking for referrals, rightfully so, we just moved from DC to some burbs outside of the district so we had nothing to offer. I began to ask them about interesting "anti" ideas they have heard. And guess what?

They heard this terrible lie about Prophets and Apostles being racist, especially Brigham Young.

Their ignorance, would have bowled me over if I did not manage to experience the viewpoints of Will, Oh Brother, and other posters on the subject. Furthermore, my wife sitting me down and informing me of the common Utah mindset. Long story short, basically they did not think that there was a history of racism, nor did I push the idea there was because I am not the type to ruin their day. They left on the note, that we should not look to answers from books (besides Book of Mormon) and that we need to pray more instead of research. I understand what they are getting at but it is a rather harmful viewpoint. Anyways, we will have them over next week.

No, the few hot ones get sent to SLC to be the PR bitches that wander the temple grounds as tour guides.

Most of the sister mishies out in the field are homely, overweight, or both. I have heard many stories of how the sedentary schedule of the MTC and the greasy cafeteria there are very damaging to hot sisters.

Only the hottest sister missionaries that come out of the MTC unladen are worthy of being a PR bitch at Temple Square.

Another BIL of mine is in our stake. He said one night that the new sister missionary in our area is tall and hot. He didn't use the word hot because he is very priesthoodly. Nonetheless, I recall seeing his my wife (my sister) being a little uncomfortable about his description (and even his notice) of this sister missionary.

The sister missionaries happened to come to Ward Council this past Sunday so I got to see for myself and sure enough, he was right - she is hot. An older missionary couple came to the meeting and gave a little sell for us to find our inactive friends and refer them using the couple's business cards.

Anyway, nobody really seemed to care about the old couple. They wanted to talk to this new sister. We spent at least 30 minutes talking with the new sister. Lot's of joking and smiling and listening to her. We went 45 minutes over our allotted time for the meeting. I witnessed at least 4 pair of googly eyes of the priesthood body that morning. The YW, RS, and Primary leaders were getting very board and all had big frowns on their faces.

This new sister missionary will be very persuasive, I'm sure.

Fair question, thief tradesman, no they were not hot. Which is somewhat surprising because they are DC Visitor Center missionaries for half a portion of their mission. I am afraid to inform this board that unfortunately the stock has been plummeting year after year here.

The truth of a spiritual matter likely has nothing to do with the faults of men so the advice is not unreasonable. However, I've done the research and have concluded that BY was not racist for his time nor has the Church any racist doctrine. There are many people who rely on my testimony that this is true but I do encourage them all to find out for themselves. Some will indeed find stumbling blocks but that is just the nature of the thing. Most will likely come to a similar conclusion as I and this seems to be the case in my experience.
