Re: The Apologists Erupt in Anger over Ex-MST
David,
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you are trying to justify your (and the other apologists') anger over the site---i.e., that you're angry that anyone would dare ridicule "Mormon Scholars Testify." Is that correct?

The old sayins says that imitation was the sincerest form of flattery. So MST should be flattered that XMST is imitating them.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I am the Admin and owner of Ex-MST
I started the website because I wanted balance. I am not a scholar and do not claim to be. I feel some people will find the testimonies useful.
The email Stan Barker wrote is real and if anyone is interested to see it, email me.
When you read http://mormonscholarstestify.org/about it states that Elder Ballard requested that the site be built.
In my OPINION, I believe the church leaders are coming to the conclusion that the internet is damaging A LOT of member's testimonies. When a doubting average member reads MST, I BELIEVE, they say to themselves,, "Wow, since these really really smart people believe, I guess I still can. I can't wrap my mind around the Book of Abraham dilemma, but Dr. John Gee did, and he is still a member. I better not worry or think about it anymore."
Ex-MST gives the average member a chance to see it from another viewpoint.
Also, the site is not endorsed or sponsored by any other site. We are not affiliated with any religion and we do not advocate any religion.
If you think the stock photo is cheezy, give me a better idea and I'll consider it.
Thanks,
Jake

I very much doubt that Elder Ballard did any such thing.

"It was inspired by a request made by Elder M. Russell Ballard"
I believe he personally contacted Dan and requested it.
But we both have our opinions don't we?

From the link EX provided...
It was inspired by a request made by Elder M. Russell Ballard, and reiterated by other authors in the October 2009 Ensign, that we use the internet as a way of sharing our testimonies of the gospel.

You can look at it either way. He may of contacted Dan personally, which I think he did, or he may have stated to use the internet as a way of sharing the gospel, but not specifically asked Dan to do it.
Either way, MST was made and Ex-MST was made to provide balance.

Actually, I robbed the photos from other sites. The photo showing the First Presidency and a couple stooge apostles came from Salamander. It proves that the First Presidency is more than willing to waste the hard earned money the saints donate rather than get real inspiration from God.
The serpent with the large phallus is BC's Holy Ghost. Ask him. BC is into idol worshipping and a very cruel God.
