Color me unimpressed.
Re: Richard Packham
The links page gives the whole exmormon testify website a color of deep purple. So far the exmormon testimonies have been weak. It is very difficult to testify that something is false when it has not been proven false.
One can not say: I testify to you brothers and sisters that the lds church is false and I know it to be false. It is just not possible to do so without sounding stupid.

I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

hmmm. More news for zeezrom!
John Taylor lied about polygamy on his mission? Is this true?
The Danites killed people who apposed the church? Is this true? or was it self defense?
OAHSPE? never heard of it until today.
debacle of Zion's Camp? I better look at that
Adam-God theory was vigorously taught by more than just BY?
Do people that contribute to this site become candidates for excommunication?

Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

By that reasoning it is very difficult to testify that something is true when it has not been proven true. So I guess we should just eliminate Fast and Testimony Meetings by your "logic"?

Fine with me either way...eliminating F&T meeting that is.
Crawling around the evidence in order to maintain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.

It just confirms my suspicion, once a Mormon always a Mormon.

*sigh*
How right you are. Actually..... with Richard its more of a personal thing. We've had some run ins turn nasty so, when given the chance to be snarky about anything he's written -- I become the lesser man.
In reality, I've always thought Richard to be quite thoughtful and some of his writing to be quite good.
To state it without bias of any kind [/end BS] I think the fact that I can defend the Church even though I'm a non-believer kind of bugs him. Also, Richard is a driven ideologue. Mormonism is EVIL in his view. Are certain parts of Mormonism evil? Sure. Are some parts of Mormonism really good? Sure. As far as I can tell, Richard would not concede the latter.
In truth, I need to be more like Jesus. :)

My thoughts exactly.

Darn it! This is the busiest time of the semester or I'd sit right down and draft you a reading list Z! Mormon history is fascinating.
