I want to pay Lyndon a "tithe" in the form of a good microbrew served in a large chilled stein for his "testimony"

I liked how he elucidated many aspects of discomfort with Mormonism that I likewise felt. I especially liked this:

"I found that the classical concepts of sin and punishment and a capricious God to administer the whole thing is a thinly-veiled ‘Santa Claus for adults’ myth. The sin concept puts one in a state of conflict, which is the opposite of harmony and therefore the antithesis of spirituality. Sin puts one in a servile condition throughout one’s life. 6 The sin concept robs mankind of the opportunity of adopting correct behavior voluntarily and the innate satisfaction derived thereby. Identifying with the positive aspects of life and choosing to embrace life enhancing behavior on a want-to, choose-to basis was a big boost for me. Another huge relief was realizing that the natural man is not an enemy to God, and is not in need of external help to find joy and peace. The ‘rotten to the core’ doctrine is one of the most destructive ideas ever to be introduced to theology, in my opinion"

I see no problem with the presentation and layout of the site.

That was a well presented piece by Lyndon. I'd only just heard of him this week and a few days ago listened to some youtube of him..his excommunication and a talk on mind control.

I think that he is full of crap. First, his issue is not with Mormonism but with the Bible. His problem with sin does not stem from the Mormon church but from the Bible, especially from Paul.

Also in these sentences:

Where is god kind and benevolent in the Bible? I see no kind and benevolent god as Lamborn believes there to be. I see a god, who drowned thousands of Egytian soldiers in the red sea. I see a god who turned someone to stone or salt. I see a god who killed a couple for cheating on their tithing in the new testament. And I see a god, who allowed hundreds of christians to be eaten by lions during the times of Nero. Please...Lyndon, get a life and read the Bible.

So, he is full of postmodern crap.

I think that lyndon needs to be more concerned with who god is than with joseph smith. He seems to not know the god of the Bible. His postmodern, "god is love" is postmodern dribble. But it will certainly play well with lighthouse ministries since they are antimormon and linked to the site.

And sin is not a Mormon original. It orginates with the Bible and with Christ who cautioned sinners to sin no more.
