Tom has a two year technical degree from Gateway Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. He works in the ammonia refrigeration industry and holds a national certification in that field. Tom is also the author of Book of Mormon Tories, which documents early American influences on the production of the Book of Mormon.

We divided the testimonies page into two sections, one says 'scholars' and the second says 'other testimonies'. This is for intellectuals, authors and other ex-members who have held prominent callings or who have dedicated themselves to studying church history. For example, Sandra Tanner may not be a 'scholar' but she knows Mormonism better then pretty much anyone. So we could have her under 'other testimonies'.

I created the site to provide balance. In my opinion Dan Peterson created the site mormonscholarstestify.org because the average TBM member who reads the site might think to themselves, "Wow, this Phd still believes? Maybe I can't comprehend the Book Of Abraham issue, but Dr. John Gee can, and he's and Egyptologist." Its as if a 'scholars' testimony is more valid or valuable than a janitors testimony. The internet is destroying the church and Dan's site is an effort to keep the average thinking members in the fold.

I see. You do see the irony in naming a website called, " Ex-Mormon Scholars Testify" and than furnishing an HVAC guy who wrote an article for an on-line magazine 4 years ago as a scholar? I'm glad you made the change, but you seem bitter about the critcism, like you don't get it.

A silly site. "Scholars" individually seem weak. The stock photo is ridiculous.

Well the one on "Mormon Scholars Testify" looks like Jesus is doing calculus. Now I know he has suffered through everything!

The website layout and stock photo may be changed in the future. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I think it would be interesting to have a site (or a link or something) with testimonies of early LDS leaders testifying to things which we now know are not true.

Or maybe, testimonies of early LDS scholars (or prominent leaders) who left the church?

Pictures of John C. Bennett, Frank Cannon and the like might help.

Any website that is based on the formula: "Scholar's from X world view testify" is ridiculous on principle. No amount of web design can cover up that much needy validation and insecurity.
