The New York Times just published a great article on the use of LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology to map the Mayan ruins in Belize. Truly amazing. The old chestnut used by Mormon apologists might be snatched away by technology, namely that..."we just haven't found the Nephite/Lamanite ruins in all of that dense jungle. We must be patient." Check it out...the pictures are great. This might be a replay of the Book of Abraham incident, where at first Mormons were hopeful that technology would vindicate the Book of Abraham translation, but their hopes were dashed when the opposite occurred, their prophet was busted. Soon, after the entire area is completely accurately mapped, it will be popular to conjecture that the Book of Mormon lands are elsewhere...maybe in China?? Maybe one day the Lord will reveal the Book of Mormon location to his humble servant, the Prophet.
