Brent Metcalfe Throws Down the Gauntlet

Typical of Will and his limitless hubris, he once boasted how much he would like to debate the Book of Abraham and KEP with Brent.
William Schryver wrote:As for [Nomad's] desire to see a debate between me and Metcalfe on the topic of the meaning and purpose of the KEP, I have to agree with him that I don't believe Brent would consent to such a thing. That said, lest there be any question whatsoever, I would welcome such an opportunity.... I would consent to such an arrangement in a heartbeat.
William Schryver wrote:At any rate, I admit that the notion of a Schryver/Metcalfe debate is merely a fleeting fantasy. I suspect that, after a suitable period of silence, he'll finally just quietly agree with my findings and that will be the end of that.
Well, Brent has
accepted.
I can't help but think that the odds of Will standing behind his unbounded puffery are a bit slim.
Edited to add: The debate (if it happens; big if that) will be broadcast on Mormon Expression (kudos to John for considering a Book of Abraham broadcast with Brent (and maybe Will)).

To paraphrase Joseph Fielding Smith's prediction regarding men landing on the moon:
We will never get Will onto Mormon Expression. MAD/FAIR is Will's sphere and it was never intended that he should get away from it. You can write it down in your books that this will never happen.

lol...
In the spirit of that, Will in fact will go onto Mormon Expression and get away from the sphere he was intended to stay upon. Unless, of course, you believe that the man who claims he is Will really is an impostor and John is staging the whole debate. I am looking forward to this.

Oh goody, We get to see William boy sucked into meeting his fate in front of everyone. You're dead meat, William. Brent is going to kill you. You're going to pay a heavy price for your little stunt. And, I haven't even started on collecting my thoughts for my own response.
The cipher is clear evidence of the multifaceted fraud produced by Joseph Smith Co. You're dead meat, William.

Will weaseled out by laying down silly demands.

Right. More specifically, Will refused on the grounds that the Mormon Expression podcast wasn't illustrious enough for him. He backpedalled further by saying that he'd only debate Brent in print, and then moved the goalposts yet again by saying that he'd debate Brent only after Brent published something about the Book of Abraham first so that Will could examine it and craft his responses in advance.

The upshot is that he feared public humiliation.
