If you think Ufology is a crackpot investigation, then you haven't investigated what NASA privately knows, but will not publicly tell. Just do some searching.

No, Ray, I think that there is enough going on with UFO's that you can't simply laugh all of it off, although I am not yet ready to say that modern technology comes from the reverse engineering of alien spacecraft. I was just playing on Aristotle's comment.
However, ufology is not a very well-defined field of study, so "ufology is a crackpot investigation" is very often true, although it is not always true. In other words, there are a few legitimate researchers with some interesting finds that should be looked into, and a whole lot of crackpots who are totally full of crap.
