Doctor Scratch cannot handle anyone who thinks differently than he does. He cannot accept that he is not everyone will bow down to him, and when someone stands up to him, Scratch does his masonic cry for help and his fellows come to his rescue. I understand now, more than ever, the hatred and intolerance that exists here, perpetuated by a few, and followed en masse by the lesser members. I am not going away. I have several offers from other, more diversified institutions. I will always stand for what is right, not what Scratch believes.

You, Mr Belmont, have demonstrated the utmost contempt and intolerance against scriptural and albeit very sensational justifications of apostasy rife in the LDS Church today. Bigotry and fear of losing face, backed by, I dare say, extreme hatred and intolerance has been aptly demonstrated by you of this Nightlion who stands up against LDS apostasy.

Honestly, NL, I read your post two or three times, and still have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

I think it boils down to this--Nightlion believes that

• your Church is a haughty, bigoted branch of Mormonism that has apostatized from the restoration by and teachings of Joseph Smith
• you have been whiny about Doctor Scratch, who is vulgar and playing games, claiming bigotry and intolerance
• your defense of your Church amounts to bigotry, intolerance and hatred of Nightlion, the very claims you level at critics
• ergo, you are a hypocrite
• you won't engage him substantively 'in gospel rightness, theology, revelation, doctrines of Zion', but taunts you to do so
• if you do not engage him substantively, he will lose interest and say good-bye, Joseph Smith style

Nightlion is one revolution ahead of your Church.

Your Church claims that Peter's church apostatized (i.e., the Great Apostasy) and needed to be restored, via Joseph Smith. Once restored, the cycle of apostasy and restoration was complete.

Nightlion realizes that your Church too has apostatized, this time from the Restoration ushered in by Joseph Smith. You might call it the 2nd Great Apostasy.

The 2nd Great Apostasy has necessitated the 2nd Restoration, which Nightlion is the prophet and instrument of, just as Joseph Smith was according to all of Mormondom for the 1st Restoration.

It's sort of like, if a cheeseburger is good, a double cheeseburger is even better.
