I find more spoofs than real ads on YouTube. This has got to be hurting the Mormon Church

Answer the question: yes.

When they have a woman CEO with an advanced degree, divorced with 3 kids... I'll pay attention.

As with most LDS PR, the target audience is not prospective new members.

The will make the masses feel better about their awkwardness from being Mormon in public.

Afterall, the best new members are not converted, they are created in TBM wombs.

CFR that the target audience has the desired outcome for the campaign. Its been close to unanimous from everything I have read that the ad campaign was a bad idea and did more harm than benefit for the church's image. Its too soon to tell what lasting effects the campaign will have, but from the trend of critical news reports and comments from both members and non-members it seems the ads are doing more harm than good.

My humble conspiracy-theory is. . .

The church wanted to divert attention away from their previous bad press with all the prop 8 shenanigans. They needed a reason to be the valid martyrs again. . . Prop 8 was a misstep, in that the "persecution" couldn't be claimed as unfounded. So they throw up some "nice", unassuming commercials, in the hopes of claiming how the "meanie" people always have to persecute them. Nothing to risk for them.

I agree with Porter here. Hindsight shows that the commercials were actually intended to for bolstering the self-righteous attitudes of its members.

If you haven't checked out the Mormon Expression episode about the Mormon Ads, it's a good one: Episode 81: Mormon Ad Campaign

I think the next ad campaign should be, "I'm not weird, and I'm a Mormon. Underwear is not up for discussion."

As others have said here and elsewhere, these commercials are not to bring in new Mormons. Everyone knows that a good Mormon comes from the womb of a TBM, and nowhere else. This is why the Cult indoctrinates children from a young age in order to extract three things: Money, power and control.

These adds are to keep the flock believing that LDS Inc. is actually growing and prospering. All the rest of the world has to do is type "Mormon" into Google and within 4 pages, ends up on the Mormon Curtain - or other sites. There, the real information that the Cult of Mormonism hides - can be found. And no amount of lying on YouTube is going to help them.

Comon Mormons, show the underwear you are forced to wear. Show the signs and the tokens. Give us the square. Tell us your new assigned name. Quit hiding the truth.

Hmm, all this thinking about the Mormon Cult and money makes me hungry. I think I'll go down and visit Jesus Christ's 3 billion dollar mall and have some Chinese food.
